A great weekend...
Let's talk about a non-distressful weekend... My wife and I discovered possibly the best Bed and Breakfast in the mid-south. This past weekend we took a little trip over to Hot Springs, Arkansas and stayed at the Hilltop Manor Bed and Breakfast. Faith, the owner/operator of the B and B supplied us with one of the best weekend stays that we have had anywhere in a long time. If you ever find yourself looking for somewhere to spend a relaxing weekend or perhaps a week long holiday, we highly... Read Full Story
Stress the spice of life?
In this post I'll be using and quoting a lot of stuff from the work of Hans Selye M.D. and his book "Stess without Distress". As many of you know the subject of stress has been on my mind allot lately. Since stress is associated with all types of activity, we could avoid most of it only by never doing anything. This to me sounds like an awful existence! Deprivation of motivation is the greatest mental tragedy because it destroys all guidelines. But how do we deal with stress? This for... Read Full Story
4th of July weekend!
Hey everybody! The 4th of July had Terri, Lucy and myself traveling to Texas to be with family. The cool little gal in the shades is the latest addition to our family. We'd like for everyone to meet Sophie E'lynn our new grand baby. We have a great shot of Lucy giving Sophie a ride on her back. Boxers are definitely great kid dogs! I'll try to post more pictures of the big visit in a later posting. It's amazing we live in Memphis and all our kids are in Texas. We miss them allot... Read Full Story
When does stress become distress
I've been doing some reading on the subject of stress and what it can do to the human body. One of the things that I have found out is that some degree of stress is necessary just to survive in this world! I guess I'd better define what I mean by stress. Webster's defines stress as the "body's response to an external stimulus." In order to breath a person's body must come under stress...the breathing response is triggered by the stress of CO2 build up in the blood stream thus triggering the... Read Full Story
Memphis in Mud
Saturday May 3rd, Terri(the wife) and I went to Memphis in May. If you've been following the national weather seen you'll know that we have had a lot of rain this spring. We stood out in the mud on Saturday evening for 4 hours to be able to get up close to the stage to see Carlos Santana, one of my favorite guitar players of all time. We also saw Buddy Guy and Lou Reed. Buddy Guy was fantastic, Lou Reed was barely tollerable and played none of his classics, kinda boring if you ask me... Read Full Story
Sorry for not posting for a while...
I haven't posted anything for awhile now and felt I should at least explain why. I've not been feeling well as of late and my work (day job) has kept me quite busy. I'll try a bit harder to establish a more frequent posting pattern in the future. I've also been busy trying to get my websites up to date and traffic going in the right direction. Just busy, that me! If anyone has a magic pill for website traffic,I would really like to hear from you! Sometimes I feel like the only person that... Read Full Story
Not feeling well...
Sorry for not posting anything for a bit. I haven't been feeling well as of late and work has kept me quite busy. Lucy's adventures are about to kick off again real soon. The weather in Memphis and the surrounding area is starting to get really nice. We are looking to go hiking over in the Smokies just as soon as I get into a little better shape. Lucy is getting excited! Please return soon for our next post. Ciao for now! Read Full Story
Why write an ebook?
I've been doing some research on how to improve my website traffic and also increase the revenue it generates. A couple of things that keep popping up are ebooks and ezimes(article submissions). As a matter of fact it has led me to another business venture based on this very topic. In this post I would like to give good reason why you might want to write an ebook... It's not true that everything that has been said has already been written. Since that unfortunate axiom came into use, the... Read Full Story
Rocky Mountain National Park
At one time, the Rocky Mountain National Park was known by early explorers as “America’s Switzerland.” Although there are many beautiful mountains for hikers in this country, none beat the Rocky Mountains. The beauty is breathtaking, the colors vivid, the wildlife diverse, and the air crisp and clean! The entire park covers approximately 415 square miles, meaning you have a huge selection of areas to backpack. One of the favorites is outside of Estes Park, a quaint little town with... A great find that I had to share...
I just have learned about this new classified site where you can place your ads with pictures in your local area. You can sell without your own website. You can even setup your own fre.e store and sell your products or services directly from their website. There is no html or programming knowledge required and creating your store is as easy as filling out few forms by answering the questions. The site is simple and doesn't cost anything to use. The owner of the site is a successful... Read Full Story
