Doran Beach is just a five minute drive from “At the Bay’s Edge” and is popular not only for bird watching, but as an access point for kayaking, boogie boarding, kite flying, beach combing, and of course, just hanging out... Birding is one of the most popular activities in Bodega Bay, in fact the Madrone Audobon Society lists Bodega Bay as the best birding spot in Sonoma County. I love low tide here “At the Bay’s Edge” because I enjoy watching the heron and sandpipers hunt. It’s fascinating to watch the process of stalking, it’s quite intense.
Here’s a recent picture I took right from my deck.
We do have binoculars and birding books in both of our rentals for your convenience and enjoyment, so come watch... Read Full Story

It’s a great place for kids to play, and adults to relax or enjoy water activities or kite flying. Saw a video that was done on the Camp Ground, but it gives you a good idea of the beach itself, so when you plan your trip to Bodega Bay it’s definitely something to check out!
The campground consists of 150 sites with 20... Read Full Story
