Just returned from a ten day road trip. My husband and I drove from Alabama to Colorado and back. Why drive and not fly? First of all, we like to listen to audio books and this long trip presented a perfect opportunity to expand our "have listened to" list. What we heard:Outlander by Diana Gabaldon -- 32 hours longMrs. Pollifax, Innocent Tourist by Dorothy GilmanEndangered species by Nevada BarrMy opinions of these audio books will be forthcoming!Second, we needed to take lots of stuff. Below you will find photos of my grandbabies. I just adore each and every one.
BUT, I am not beyond getting a kick (as in a chuckle) out of them. I know one day they will hate me for doing posting their embarrassing photos on line, but hey, they will forgive me when they see the will.
I challenge you to take a poke and write a funny caption to the pictures. I am only going to choose the best five captions submitted for each. Please keep it "G" rated. After all, these are children.

So, why a little red wagon as an avatar?
To make a long story short, it is my little red wagon, isn't it?
While doing a search for the origin of the phrase "little red wagon", I discovered an article about a little boy who pulled "a little red wagon of life" around behind him. On that wagon was his oxygen. He needed it to live. Well, I need my little red wagon. It might not be saving my life like the boy in the article, but it does give me some life support.
So what is in my little red wag... Read Full Story

Have any of you Squidooers noticed all the new groups that are forming out there? Rocket Moms, Senior Squidooers, "giant" groups? And what do you think of these purple stars?Personally I have joined several of these groups and I have been awarded a purple star on one of my lenses. (My Vegetable Garden--just in case you want to check it out!) What do I think of my groups (RocketMoms, WiWon Team, and others)? I love them. I have been getting lots of really helpful critiques from the members. I ... Read Full Story

Ok, so I am having way too much fun with the new formats here on Squidoo for Twitter!
Even if I do not quite "get" the Twitter thing, I just jump right in and start creating a list, a storm, or whatever Squidoo comes up with next. Call me impetuous, call me geeky, call me whatever you want, just don't call me an old fogey.
Here on this page you will find my twttrlists and my twttrstrms. This page is kind of like a lensography for my twitterings.
Enjoy!
Oh, and thanks for vis... Read Full Story

So, canoodling was in the news on May 28, 2009. Seems a Catholic priest was seen canoodling a lady on a beach and had to leave the church.
Well, it got me thinking; what is canoodle? Decided to see what the John Q. Public was saying on Twitter.
Back in the olden days, I used to use my OED and magnifying glass. Now I use a mouse and a PC. (I really want a MAC)
Very interesting results can be found on and in both. Read Full Story

Published to True Blood
From: squidoo.com
Buzz galore about Sookie Stackhouse abounds. Guess it is because of the new book in the "Southern Vampire Series" and TrueBlood new season coming in June. Oh, and guess what, there is a new Sookie book coming in October, 2009!
Image from FantasticFiction.co.uk
Dead In Dixie is evidently the title of the compilation of the first three Sookie Stackhouse books in the Southern Vampire Series. The chick is obviously Sookie, so who is the dude? Jason, her brother? He has got too much color for a ... Read Full Story

When these tomatoes are ripe and ready to pick, I will tweet my followers to come and enjoy!
But, no one will know! I am a real dummy when it comes to twitter.
I bet the people (Tweeters? Twitterers? Twits?) on the list below will have hoards showing up at there place when they tweet that their tomatoes are ripe and ready .
Oh well, more for me, my husband, and Howie the basset hound! Yes, my dog loves tomatoes. Read Full Story

Twitter has been occupying my thoughts lately.I am technically a nerd (terd) when it comes to Twitter. But, I am also extremely aware what Twits and IMs and such are doing to the world of the younger generation. Those innovations are making them more focused on the device in their hands and less aware of the world around them.Surreal moment: At one point, the guy sitting closest to me was reading a blog post containing a photo of the guy sitting immediately behind him." -- Owen ThomasI ...
