Everyone has hugged (or continues to hug) their pillow. This pillow hugs you back. Great for singles, neglected spouses, or first-time practice kissing.

Peter Fonda’s getting too old to do it. He was unavaible for comment. Seriously though, my friends know that I went through a fiasco last year where I thought I was getting a Yamaha motorcycle, and got doublecrossed. We made a deal, and later that night he sold it to someone else for more money. All water under the bridge, but that’s twice I thought I was getting that bike and didn’t.
My friend Roy (the only guy from high school I’m still in touch with) is selling me his Honda 500 since... Read Full Story

We saw Get Smart last night and I thought it was great. Sometimes old t.v. gets made into good movies, and other times, well… not so much. I hope, for instance, that the Incredible Hulk is a big improvement over the Hulk movie made a few years ago. They got a new actor, a new director, and tried to rethink the concept. Everything I’ve heard has been good. When the Brady Bunch updated in the 90’s, they left the family stuck in the 70’s and brought the setting up to modern day. It was... Read Full Story

The guy came yesterday and installed our DSL. That’s right; for the past 8 years we’ve only had dial-up. I found out just a year or so ago that my 2000 year-model Gateway, running Windows 98, doesn’t even have a 56K modem. Up until about February, we were using a 28.8 modem. That was the only internet access we had at home. So anytime you see a blog post with pictures, that means I uploaded them from school. It’s not a big a deal as it sounds. I can walk from here to my classroom in... Read Full Story

When I moved my stuff from here to The Master’s Table, I left behind a counter with about 2,000 hits on it. As of 11:00 pm on the evening of June 27, this site has 2,322 views, The Master’s Table has surpassed it at 2,330 views. I try not to make a big deal out of numbers, but I’ve been waiting weeks for this to happen.
In unrelated news, the guy is coming Monday afternoon to install DSL. That’s right, we still use dial up. I have a laptop now, and am making the move to fast access... Read Full Story

I did buy an Acer. (That’s an actual photo of it sitting on my coffee table.) I know it’s something of an offbrand, but I know several people that have them. A guy I met in the store told me two stories: he had a Dell that lasted for years and years, and was probably the best laptop he ever had. He also mentioned having an HP that his cat knocked off the table and broke in half. The HP was almost $900, and we have 2 dogs in addition to a cat. Ouch. I use HP printers and their digital... We’re buying our first laptop tomorrow. For some time I had planned on getting an Acer in the $500 range, but could actually afford to spend a little more than that. I’m wondering if spending a few more dollars on an HP or a Dell (which my wife wants specifically) is a worthwhile investment. If you can provide helpful advice between now and Saturday afternoon you might can help us. You could even suggest we buy a Mac, but we’re not going to

This site was my first attempt at blogging. I’ve gotten a lot of traffic since Internet Monk posted my book review, but all my religion/ theology stuff now appears at The Master’s Table. I use this page as sort of an online journal, and do don’t that often enough. You’re welcome to check up on me from time to time, and the What’s Happening page is about whatever events are current in my life. Most of my blogging is theology, though, and that’s on the other site. Clark Bunch’s Weblog has... Read Full Story

A billion seconds ago was 1959.
A billion minutes ago, Jesus was alive.
A billion hours ago, our ancestors lived in the stone age.
… And a billion dollars ago was 8 hours and 20 minutes at the rate our government spends money.

This is Teresa and I at Cumberland Falls, the self proclaimed “Niagara of the South.” Cumberland Falls is about an hour north of Knoxville, TN., just a few minutes east of Corbin, KY.
Our trip to GA went well, and we’re gearing up for summer school to start next week. The garden has done well also; we have a couple of squash already, and about half a dozen or so green tomatoes about the size of the end of your thumb. The cucumber vines are just beginning to run. The only thing I’m... Read Full Story
