I read in Logistics Magazine today that Armstrong is still holding out for growth in the 3PL business this year. I do not understand how that can be since the size of the pie is continuing to shrink. Their customers are getting smaller. There is no way to avoid that. The article is here and my response is:"I think you will find 3PL revenue has to drop just as a matter of mathematics. The companies they are servicing are seeing a large drop in sales. This translates into far less product ... Read Full Story
A very interesting article on MSNBC titled, "Soldier Mom Plans to Report for Duty with Kids". She filed for an exemption and it appears it was denied. Now she is going to call their bluff and bring the entire family with her. Fantastic!! That is great. If the Army wants to send a family to war, have at it! Although, I do not remember her posting here so rather than higher a high priced lawyer who appears to have lost, she should have come here and won with a lot of people who have w... Read Full Story
I will dispense with the utter disgust and contempt I have for those who sent him. I will only say, God be with CPT Brian Bunting, only 29 years young, recalled into active duty from the IRR and loses his life in Afghanistan. Our prayers go out to all the IRR soldiers involuntarily being drafted into service. This is a reminder of why we need to stop this injustice. The article about this soldier is at the Salem News. Thank you to "endirr" who commented on this tradgedy concernin... Read Full Story
Once you get passed all the emotion and the "tough guy" ideology, you notice there is a real problem to be solved. So, how did we get here? The best, by far, expose on the housing crisis is David Faber's House of cards on CNBC. You can see it at Hula or I have embedded some here:

Back in April of 2008, I wrote a piece here at The Command T.O.C. titled: What if The Soldiers Come Home to A Dead Economy? It was a continuation of an article I started back in 2005 when this blog was actually on a completely different site. Unfortunately, the record of the 2005 article is gone but this is the record of the April 2008 article. Remember, this was written back when Bush was still saying our economy is very strong. McCain held to the "strong economy" into September of... Read Full Story
As I stated over the weekend, "Citibank will fall soon". This morning there are reports the U.S. Government could take as much as 40% share of Citi. If this is not nationalization of banks, what is? But, Rick Santelli will probably rant today that some poor person in the Midwest got $5K to help with his/her mortgage. Read Full Story
Pat Buchanan is generally right about 99% of the time and once again he is right in saying we are not a nation of cowards as apparently our Attorney General thinks we are. The cowards are those who are not solving the problems of illigitimacy in the African American community, the crime, the atrocious education levels. If Mr. Holder spent more time on that he would do a lot more for his race than to incite the emotions of the rest of the Country against him. Pat Buchanan brings up a very inte... Read Full Story
I have never heard this term but I guess it is true. The Wingnuts leaving the Bush White House expected the normal "Wingnut welfare". But, it appears they are all being shunned which may be due to their incredible incompetence. Read Full Story
I must admit I am changing my view on helping the people who may be losing their homes. I wrote a while back that I was adamantly against this as it inspired moral hazard. Basically, it rewarded people for doing the wrong thing. This was when I thought we were in a "downturn" in the economy a.k.a. 2001, 1987. However, it is clear now we are more in a spiral towards depression circa 1929. As I have said in some other blogs, "the patient is on the table and is in a massive cardi... Read Full Story
