Todd Haley can do whatever he wants after leading the Chiefs to a 3-0 start, but his treatment of Charles remains curious at best. With the team apparently set on establishing veteran Thomas Jones as the primary back, Charles has played the ancillary role through three weeks. So how did he pace all backs in DYAR this week? Small miracles. He converted both the third downs he faced, including a 24-yard run on a third-and-20 draw. Seven of his 12 runs went for five yards or more, and four of... Read Full Story

The Kansas City Chiefs took to the practice field on Tuesday morning as they enter the bye week.
Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star reports the Chiefs had a handful of players in the conditioning area during practice:
DE Tyson Jackson : He's recovering from a knee injury and him doing some jogging today is a good sign for the Indy game.
RT Ryan O'Callaghan : He's had a groin injury dating back to the end of August. We're not sure what his timetable is.
CB Javier Arenas : He went down... Read Full Story

I've heard a few Kansas City Chiefs fans use the words "momentum killer" when talking about the upcoming bye week.
As you know, the Chiefs are coming off three straight wins (four dating back to last season) including their most recent 31-10 spanking of the 49ers . So clearly momentum can be considered a big factor here.
So is the bye week perfect timing or a momentum killer?
My take: It's perfect timing. The... Read Full Story

It would appear that Kansas City Chiefs DE Tyson Jackson will be returning from injury on Oct. 10 when the Chiefs head to Indianapolis to play the Colts . His initial injury was reported as a sprained MCL which usually only keeps players out a couple of weeks.
For Jackson, I'm wondering if his job will be there when he gets back.
DE Shaun Smith has been filling in for him and, frankly, been a more disruptive... Read Full Story

There are many factors that go into why teams score points in the NFL. One of those factors is the staring field position on each drive. The further away a team is from the end zone the less likely they are to keep a drive going long enough to score.
Against the San Francisco 49ers the Kansas City Chiefs moved the ball two or more zones 8 out of 12 possessions. A football team that is moving the ball 2 or more... Read Full Story

Last week, those in the media writing up NFL power rankings were still skeptical of the Kansas City Chiefs . This week, that skepticism still exists but more and more people are putting the Chiefs in their top ten NFL teams.
I've rounded up a handful of power rankings from around the web to see where the rest of the media thinks the Chiefs stand. Joel will have his SB Nation power rankings up soon.

In Week 1 of the NFL season, Kansas City Chiefs offensive weapon Dexter McCluster took home NFL Rookie of the Week honors. In Week 2, RB Jahvid Best of the Detroit Lions took it home.
And in Week 3, another Chief is up for Rookie of the Week honors: Tight end Tony Moeaki .
Moeaki had four catches for 44 yards against the San Francisco 49ers . And he had a one-handed 18-yard touchdown catch that was just... Read Full Story
