One of the more curious names to attend the Chiefs' mini-camp this weekend is New Hampshire QB Ricky Santos. He was on his fair share of sleeper lists before the draft but ultimately wasn't picked by any team. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs, presumably because he saw... Including all seventy players currently on the Kansas City Chiefs' active roster (No UDFAs), the average age is just a tad above 25-years old. The average number of years experience is right under 3.5
If you don't count our twelve rookies that we just drafted, the average age only jumps to 26-years old.
Forty-six Chiefs have three years or less experience. Only fourteen have more than five years experience.
Of the seventy players on the roster, only nine were here before Herm Edwards... Read Full Story
Check out this article on recently signed UDFA Wisconsin WR Luke Swan -- "Swan knew the only way he could beat coverage was by being precise in his route running, catching and blocking technique. So that’s what he did." H/T Chiefs Coalition.
For some reason you need a log in to this newspaper site but I'm sure the bit I was able to glean is correct - Jacksonville State wide receiver Taurean Rhetta has signed a free agent contract to play for the Kansas City Chiefs. Can you name a former... Read Full Story

Between 2001 and 2002, Kansas City Chiefs' running back Priest Holmes rushed for 3,170 yards and 29 touchdowns. In two short years after coming from Baltimore, Holmes had established himself as one of the premiere running backs in the NFL, as well as putting together two of the greatest rushing seasons ever for a Kansas City Chief.
With three games left in the 2002 season, the Chiefs traveled to Mile High stadium to play the Denver Broncos in a game... Read Full Story
What's the Jared Allen Sports Arena and Grill like without Jared Allen? I love how the restaurant's web site has a picture of Jared Allen sacking Michael Vick.
The odds are already out on defensive and offensive rookies of the year. Dorsey is a 12-1 shot to win defensive rookie of the year.
I'm a bit busy this morning so I'm going to throw out an off season, completely premature, haven't seen much video of these new guys, offensive depth chart to get started:
QB-Brodie Croyle... Read Full Story

Why aren't I cheering?
Kansas City Chiefs: Stars of the war room, stars of the TV studios and the draft, that's K.C., with its cast of thousands. And yes, the names are impressive, but how about the two that are missing? Jared Allen, their right DE who led the league in sacks last year, and ... well, the name escapes me, but it was the guy I was sure the Chiefs would bring in to give Brodie Croyle a run for the QB job. Sorry, no one to push Croyle, no Allen to line... Read Full Story
So you think you can dance? So do Chiefs' safeties Bernard Pollard and DaJuan Morgan. H/T to Zach and Mr. Wendler. I know the FanShots are typically reserved for video posts but this one was too funny to pass up.

When the talk of Jared Allen being traded really heated up in the ten days or so leading up to the draft, my reactions went from "Oh hell no!" to "Let's maximize the value of a guy who obviously wants out of KC" to "Maybe Herm is right, you don't need superstar players".
That last statement is gaining credence in my head. Well-paid star players often eat up a disproportionate amount of salary cap space, often don't pan out because of injury and I would assume invoke jealously... Read Full Story
Morgan St. Tight End Rohnie Sykes has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs after going undrafted this past weekend.
TCU Horned Frogs guard Matty Lindner signed a free agent contract with the Chiefs.
Just came across this interesting article on undrafted free agents and the stress involved post-draft.
Get this. The Rams' owner may have tweaked their draft board to put Chris Long ahead of Glenn Dorsey.
There is more pressure on Tamba Hali than ever before, now that he'll be taking over... Read Full Story
UNC kicker Connor Barth is one of the many free agents that the Chiefs picked up after this past weekend's draft. Since the Chiefs' '07 5th round pick, UCLA kicker Justin Medlock, seemed to mentally tap out before the season began, I found this video of a "cerebral" Connor Barth quite interesting. This guy may end up kicking for the Chiefs next year. And unlike training camp last year, I'm sure Barth will have plenty of competition.
