Peterson said that as of this morning, the sides were not close to a deal and had temporarily suspended contract talks. Dorsey is the highest unsigned draft pick. Peterson said Segal wanted to wait until more first-round picks had signed before they proceeded.
"Our comment to Glenn Dorsey’s agent was: Look it, since you don’t want to negotiate, we’re going to go to camp and get started," Peterson said. "When you want to negotiate, you know how to reach us, so give me a phone call... Read Full Story

Will the rivalry between the Chiefs and Raiders ever be the same?
Reserve safety Greg Wesley, after his release by the Chiefs, has moved on to Oakland without raising a fuss in either city. In Kansas City, this should be tantamount to going over to the dark side. But the Chiefs and Raiders can’t afford to be fixated on each other these days.

Adam Teicher asks that question over at the Kansas City Star's brand new Chiefs Blog.
I've thought it in past years that this season's camp would be their last in Wisconsin. Obviously, I've been wrong. This time, though, I have more good reasons to feel this way.
The main proponent for the summer move north has been Carl Peterson. With two seasons left on what will probably his last contract, he's a short-timer now and may not have as much juice with Clark Hunt as he once did.

If you've seen any sort of power rankings this off season, nearly every one has the Chiefs and Falcons ranked at some combination of 32nd and 31st.
I'll confess I don't know much about the Falcons' off season. Dave from The Falcoholic could you... Read Full Story
"Happens to me all the time," Edwards said. "Everybody gets me and Tony Dungy confused. I call him up once a month and go, 'How many this month?' And he usually goes, 'Five.' Or, 'Six.'"
One time, Dungy was at Colts training camp, wearing a Colts hat and a Colts shirt when a teenage kid came up to him and said, "Coach Herm, can I get your autograph?"
"I'm not Coach Herm," Dungy said. "He coaches the Chiefs." He pointed to his blue Colts shirt with the word Colts written on it and the... Read Full Story
Tony Gonzalez is still the Chiefs' best player but it is Dorsey's time now. The Chiefs are clearly in the rebuilding mode and Dorsey is the key to it all. If the Chiefs are going to make a fast rebound it will because Dorsey becomes the centerpiece of the defense. That is why he was the No. 5 overall draft pick this April.
The Chiefs are now Dorsey's team.
