Welcome to our wikizine called "Surviving Childhood Sexual Abuse"
It all started when I was 8 years old. On night I will never forget. I really believe it was the first day "the Cosby Show" aired but I could be wrong. My mother worked the 3pm-11pm shift at Bob Evans so my older brother, my younger brother had to be there, and myself were with my new step dad. I loved my new step dad. I know the first minute I saw him I wanted him to be my dad so when my mother asked us how we felt about making "Brother John" part of the family I was ecstatic like "the kick... Read Full Story

"The Shack" by William P. Young
Oh my goodness, I love this book! My Sissy told me about this book because "The Bishop" said it was a good book. So of course if Bishop Joseph said to read it, I read it. This book is fiction but there is a tremendous amount of wisdom in this book. First of all the book is about a man whose youngest daughter is abducted while on a camping trip. They find her body in an old abandoned shack. I was like why do I want to read this? This is awful!! But I pressed on and I am so glad I did... Read Full Story

"The Richest Man Who Ever Lived" by Steven K. Scott
Let me start by saying this is an absolutely fabulous book! The book is based on the book of the Bible, Proverbs, written by King Solomon after the death of his father King David. When God appeared to Solomon and asked him what he wanted, Solomon only asked for wisdom and understanding to govern God's people. God told Solomon that because he didn't ask for riches, honor, or long life for himself that He would basically make him the greatest king who ever lived in wisdom, riches, honor... Read Full Story
Her name is ME!!
So many of you have been asking about me. Who is "CybTay"? What makes me tick. Why do I like reading so much? Well here we go. As a child I hated to read. I made a decision in about the 10th grade to start reading because my teachers convinced me that to be successful in college I needed to read and read a lot. I decided to read books by African American authors. I figured "hey I'm black, they're black so this must be a good place to start." My first book was "Roots" by Alex Haley. I know... Read Full Story
"Qualified for a Miracle" by Jim Hockaday
The faith of God comes to us as a gift from God. God deals us faith like a dealer in a card game. The greatness we need to aspire to is not in the level of our faith. We are all at the "more than enough" it is how we use it that makes the difference. At the point of salvation God gave us all the faith we needed it is up to us to reflect that faith. God has already qualified us for every gift He's ever promised in His Word to His people. There is nothing in God that we need for which we need... Read Full Story
"How To Talk So People Will Listen" by Steve Brown
"How To Talk So People Will Listen" what a great title. Have you ever thought that no one listens when you talk? Have you ever had some one ask you a question about something you already told them? If yes, this book is for you. It talks about the power of speech, words of authority, road blocks to communication, winning and argument (we all want to do that, right?), and some other great principles. Speech is a very powerful tool. Imagine your life if you couldn't talk. I realize that there... Read Full Story
