The McCain Update - July 25, 2008

This week we launched McCain Nation - a powerful online tool, built exclusively for our supporters across the country to plan and attend events of McCain supporters. Please use this tool today to plan an event or find local events in your area to attend. Getting together with other McCain supporters in your area is key to our victory in November.

Our first national event will be held on Thursday, August 14th at 7:00pm ET. In addition to receiving a host package, McCain Nation events across the country will have the opportunity to interact with a prominent McCain campaign official as part of the first national event day.

If you're unable to host an event, you can also visit McCain Nation to search for events in your area to attend. If August 14th doesn't fit your schedule, you can plan an event at another date and time through the online headquarters. We also will be organizing McCain Nation convention watching parties the evening of September 4th to watch John McCain's speech, so stay tuned for more information.

Securing Our Energy Future

In Columbus, Ohio, John McCain spoke this week with local small business owners about the economic challenges they face and how his plans will help them confront the cost of higher gas prices and create new jobs.

John McCain understands that high gas prices are squeezing family budgets and putting pressure on all Americans at home and at work. His comprehensive energy plan will provide relief to American families through a gas tax holiday and will secure America's energy independence for the long-term through the development of alternative sources of energy and expanded oil exploration. about the details of his plan.

We released a new television ad this week entitled that highlights Barack Obama's opposition to initiatives that will help lower gas prices and achieve energy independence.

John McCain and John Rich Appearing Together

John McCain and country music star John Rich are coming to Panama City next Friday, August 1st! John Rich (from the Big & Rich Country music band and Nashville Star TV show) will perform live at the event, hosted by the Republican Party of Florida.

If you live in the area, tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and younger.
