One of the cool things about aikido is that there are no prerequisites. There is no ‘most advanced skill.’ You can work the skills in any order and call that a ‘system’. A beginner may jump in with the whole class profitably practicing whatever happens to be on the lesson plan for that day. This is an awesome video presentation of various styles and Martial Arts strikes and kicks. While they attribute power to specific styles the important thing to note is the power of the specific attacks used since most styles include all of the attacks demonstrated (at least mine does!)

A Karate student should not...
try harder in the dojo than he does at work or school.
show more respect to his Sensei than he does to his parents.
clean the dojo but neglect his own home.
travel the world for training but not take his wife anywhere.
forget all the people who helped him to attain skill in Karate.

Three people who tried to rob a 42-year-old man in Bradenton early this morning may wish they had chosen a different target.
Two men and a woman approached a man in the parking lot of Health Care America, 3600 Cortez Road W., just after midnight, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said. The woman pointed a handgun at him and demanded his jewelry.
