The owner of a Hauppauge, New York contracting company was arrested Aug. 27 for lying about the number of people who worked for him so he could lower the cost of his company’s workers’ compensation insurance, the New York State Insurance Department reported. State Compensation Insurance Fund announced that it will extend credit to policyholders who have suffered a financial loss or business disruption caused by several wildfires that are ravaging parts of Northern and Southern California.
