A girl perpetually looking for a new liver who gets tickled pink by smart, funny people. She has an unnatural obsession for music and also believes she's a redhead but she's not too sure. Always finds that weird shit happens to her but maybe she brings it on herself...

Another (jobless) week done. Jeez. I'm starting to get just a little bored at this point. This is why I drink, people! Although I did spend a small portion of Friday night and Saturday night at a biker clubhouse in Columbus, GA. My ass was slapped. I danced to Elvis' "Suspicious Minds." My smart mouth was brought back up to the level it should be. I reverted back to drinking Jack and Coke (oh how I missed you!) after a nine month absence. All in all a good weekend. This week's AIAWW:WINNER WI... Read Full Story
There are lots of things that make me giddy. One of those things is whenever Ewan McGregor is a guest on Craig Ferguson's Late Show (which happened again on Friday which was exciting). MuteMath at The Tabernacle in ATL on Friday followed by the Atlanta Falcons football game at the Georgia Dome today...it's like a welcome mat to Georgia. Busy weekend but SO much fun :) I went to the MuteMath show on Friday night after listening to the CD all week thinking, "Hey, this'll be good" but I was completely blown away; the drummer Darren King is my new hero...which leads me to this week's "AIAWW." Today in our household Sirius' Alt-Nation has been replaced with Sirius XMU, the basis for which this blog exists. XMU plays the bands that don't get the recognition they deserve but eventually the masses will catch on...about six months down the road. So, when I came home today The Knife's "We Share Our Mothers' Health" was banging through the kitchen and it reminded me of this remix. Epic. Makes me miss my dancing days like no other where it was entirely acceptable to wear baggy pants and g... Read Full Story
I went out for Halloween last night (which I haven't done in four years). No, I didn't dress up. Yes, I did get drunk, thanks for asking. Did I almost fall in the bushes outside my house after getting back from the bar? Why yes, I did - how'd you know that?! And finally, yes Dum-dums do taste nasty with Corona. See Exhibit A:OK, enough ridiculousness and onto the music. I am VERY excited to go see MuteMath this Friday at The Tabernacle in Atlanta. Me Ma's been all about this band for a while ... So, I posted this song last Sunday and had seen the video thinking I didn't want to do "The Tiny" overload then, but it's been there in the background of everything for the past four days and I can't get it out of my head. This video is SO pretty: the perfect trajectory towards a broken heart and all those lights...ooo, shiny.

I am sick. Being a baby about it but still...so, in cases like this I like to listen to comfort music the way other people pick up a bucket of deep fried chicken from KFC. Esthero is a prime example, all swirly arrangements and simple beats and she makes me happy. Go pick up her "Breath From Another" album and prepare to be astounded.Esthero - Country Livin' (The World I Know)
