I guess it's still winter, as we still have a little snow. Last nights storm missed us but it's still coming down in Denver. I guess it's a good time to live in the mountains. We really need snow in the high country but I'm ready for Spring. Wish I could be outside a little more but the snow and mud prevent anything that isn't a must. Words to live by, but I don't. I think we're all guilty. The weather here is cloudy and dreary, looking like snow. We really need snow, especially in the mountains, to prevent a very dry summer. I'm going to make this year better than last. Last year started out really hard, but the second half was a blessing, on a good horse in the high mountains every day. Now I've moved on to Rifle, Colorado where I lived as a young boy. It's  really good to see places I remember from my childhood. The small town atmosphere survives here and it's great. Here are some of my traveling companions in the mountains. It's been really busy guiding and outfitting for hunters the last few months. Had some very successful hunts. Now it's snowing and really cold since we are normally working above 10,000 ft. and often 12,000. The ranch sits at 9200 ft. so we are pretty high. I'm loving every minute of it. Has everybody had enough cold yet? The below zero temperatures are gone for a few days, but I think we'll have more before winter is over. When it gets above 20 I feel like we have a real heat wave.
