I ran into some problems using a file called “timthumb.php” for one of  our client sites ( Tattoo Alley in Hatboro Tattoo, PA ). TimThumb.php kept throwing 404 errors, and I spent several hours trying every solution offered on the web before I finally found out that in webhosts usually have security measures in place that prevent timthumb.php from working, and all I needed to do was contact HostGator and ask them to whitelist it.
