30 is the new 20, or so they say. The men in my life had better hope so, as one by one they are hitting the big 3-0 and saying bye-bye to their 20's. This weekend was Rob's turn; Danielle threw an amazing party, great food, great decorations, average people... just kidding. Combined with UFC and the all new Affliction Banned fights, there wasn't a shortage of things to do. Today had me mainly cleaning my house, when I clean, I really clean. Oh and ironing... I hate ironing, I know I've... Read Full Story
I don't quite know how I'd rate myself, or how I compare to others when it comes to the subject of productivity, but it probably wouldn't look good. Some days I'm on fire (not literally - most of the time) I get everything accomplished, my house is squeaky clean, laundry is done, work is done. Then there are the days I feel like nothing has been done. Now don't get me wrong, every day starts early - between 6-6:30 am and usually doesn't end until around 11:00pm with very little quality down... Read Full Story
I have been thinking lately that I have an expiration date. I'm not just talking about the one that nature will impose upon me, I'm thinking more about the one I will impose upon myself. 1. If it takes me more than 4 tries to call you by the correct name. 2. When I'm looking through the obits not just due to morbid curiousity, but to see if any of my friends aren't in it this week. 3. When any talk of nursing homes come up 4. When really old men want to date me - and not because they're... Read Full Story
Grief: “sensations of somatic distress occurring in waves lasting from twenty minutes to an hour at a time, a feeling of tightness in the throat, choking with shortness of breath, need for sighing, and an empty feeling in the abdomen, lack of muscular power, and an intense subjective distress described as tension or mental pain.” The year of Magical Thinking I feel like I've been asking myself this question a lot lately. You'd think by 27 (almost 28) years old that I would know the answer... Read Full Story

Hence we have "the rule of thumb" ------------------------------------------- Many years ago in Scotland, a new game was invented. It was ruled "Gentlemen Only...Ladies Forbidden"...and thus the word GOLF entered into the English language. ------------------------------------------- The first couple to be shown in bed together on prime time TV was Fred and Wilma... Reading Carin's update tonight has left a lump in my throat; it's just heartbreaking to think that a family has to go through this. All I can do is send positive thoughts their way, and hope that they will get through this soon. 10/20 Tonight we completed the 10th of the 20 antibody infusions Ben will receive. Suffice to say, the past two days have been two of the most difficult we have faced yet in this journey. The combination of extreme pain and agitation has made caring for Ben... Read Full Story
I'm tired, I think I say that a lot. It's been a crazy few days; the strange part is none of it was planned. Going into the weekend we really had zero plans, everything came along pretty much a couple of hours before we did it. Spontaneity makes for an interesting life I guess. The lake was a lot of fun, we had two boats out there, and even though we ended up in Devils Cove there weren't that many people so it was actually enjoyable. However, I did find out later that evening that someone... Read Full Story
