Assume the diagnostic trouble code criteria requires the PCM to monitor the circuit only when the engine operates between 750 and 2000 RPM. Suppose the sensor’s output circuit shorts to ground when engine operates above 2400 RPM (resulting in 0 volt input to the PCM).
The Circuit Actuation Test Mode checks for proper operation of output circuits or devices the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) may not internally recognize. A Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) indicates that the Powertrain Control M... Read Full Story
Deficiency in pressure of compression; Loosen in the nut of cylinder head; Damage or leakage in the gasket of cylinder. Troubleshooting Tighten the nut of cylinder head in the diagonal sequence; check the gasket of cylinder as per the standard requirement. When the engine with the new gasket is heating, tighten the nut of cylinder head again. The valve stem is clipped in the guide pipe : Disassemble the gas valve, clean the stem and guide pipe with diesel fuel.

Instruction : Remove 3 rd brake light wiring cover and unplug both 3 rd brake light wires (see photos 1 & 2 below). Remove tailgate wiring grommet and carefully unthread wires through tailgate (one at a time). Remove 3 rd brake light assembly from spare tire mount. Remove the factory bumper using an 18mm end wrench or socket. There are 2 stud bolts on each end of the bumper and 2 hex bolts underneath along the bottom of the bumper holding it in place (see photo #4).

These tests should be performed on an engine that is at operating temperature, otherwise, false fault codes may be set. Also, make sure that all switches, including the air conditioner and defroster, are in the off position. These codes may also cause the “Check Engine” light to illuminate during engine operation. The first set of codes to appear are the “On Demand” codes. These may be two or three digit codes, depending on the model year.
After this sequence, any fault codes will be transmi... Read Full Story
1) Disconnect negative battery cable, remove dipstick, place transmission shift lever in the neutral position. Raise and support vehicle. 2) Remove all necessary skid plates if equipped. 3) Remove any engine to transmission struts (if equipped), and any exhausts components required for transmission removal. 4) Mark drive shaft and axel flange or yoke for reassembly reference, and remove drive shaft(s). 5) On all models, disconnect any shift linkage, wiring harnesses and control cables.

When repairing oil leaks from the cylinder to cylinder head sealing area on engines prior to the above engine numbers, all cylinders and pistons should be replaced and all cylinder head sealing surfaces refaced. Cylinder head nuts are reusable. Importance notice : Replacement piston and cylinder sets have a groove to accommodate a seal between the cylinder head and cylinder mating surface (Figure 1). Effective immediately, only the steel sealing ring, Part Number 964 104 115 20 is to be used ... Read Full Story
Transaxle is equipped with a mode selector switch. Switch is used for normal, high performance and winter driving conditions. Transaxle is also equipped with a shift lock and key interlock system. Shift lock system prevents shift lever from being moved from Park position unless brake pedal is applied. Brake switch is an input device mounted above the brake pedal. When brake pedal is applied, brake switch delivers an input signal to the TCM.

The Diagnosis mode is very powerful and designed with you in mind. We will look more specifically at a few diagnostic functions in this article. Vehicle Software Management Mode facilitates reflashes, VIN rewriting required on some control modules and vehicle software upgrades. Setting and running “Fault Code Searching” function in the “Vehicle Selection” allows users to continue workflow on the primary system (denoted by a check mark on the vehicle selection process) while the GDS searches i...
