Dell Mini 3i OPhone detailed ahead of this week’s China Mobile launch
From:  kijo.co.uk
After so much speculation and rumor, it's hard to believe that Dell's first modern cellphone is ready to launch. And while we've already seen the official press release announcing the Mini 3 for Brazil and China, today we get a followup release with a bit more detail. As expected, the Chinese Mini 3i variant is quadband GSM/EDGE only (no 3G) and packs a 3.5-inch nHD, 640x360 touchscreen display just like that found on Nokia's N97. The 58.35 x 122 x 11.7-mm OPhone will ship in "Red Passion" a... Read Full Story
The end of exclusivity leading to big iPhone sales in Europe
From:  kijo.co.uk
Go figure, right? You get a relatively hot phone out onto more carriers, and just like that, sales increase. It ain't rocket science, buster. As AT&T grins happily while enjoying a death grip on Apple's cash cow here in the States, things are a lot more wide open for consumers across the pond. In both France and the UK, the iPhone has been given the all-clear to be sold on multiple carriers, and according to research from Bernstein, the "widening of the distribution has boosted Apple's va... Chinese Dreamcast portable mod may inspire KIRFs, or already is one
From:  kijo.co.uk
You thought the DreamTrooper would be the last portablized Sega Dreamcast mod you'd ever see? Nah. Turns out some folk in China quietly showed off an Oriental take on the mod -- not too dissimilar from the form factor of the GameBoy Advance -- just before the DreamTrooper's debut. Details are thin here, but we're hoping for a built-in optical drive and a decent battery life. If we're lucky, some KIRF makers might pick up this idea and revive the legendary Dreamcast brand, so don't go selling... Read Full Story
Flare dress lights up your life
From:  kijo.co.uk
Fashion has certainly come a long way, and the Flare Dress that you see here by Dutch designer Stijn Ossevoort is certainly something differet – it comes embroidered with wind-sensitive lights which have been specially arranged to form dandelions. Just walking down the street with wind blowing your way will power those lights, making them twinkle and elevating you to being the street’s main attraction, never mind about the buskers who perform some really great covers of the Fab F... Roku Channel Store Opens, Hulu Is a No-Show [Roku]
From:  kijo.co.uk
When Roku released their new HD-XR box, they mentioned that big new features would be launched in the coming weeks via software update. Now the Roku Channel Store is finally here, but it's awfully short on excitement. The Roku Channel Store is an open platform for delivering content to Roku boxes beyond the already-integrated Netflix, MLB.tv and Amazon channels. We all had high hopes for full-length streaming video, and rumors pointed to Hulu, but alas, it is not to be. The first ten "channel... Read Full Story
OCZ’s Colossus desktop SSD gets reviewed: oh yeah, it’s fast
From:  kijo.co.uk
It's been a long time coming, hasn't it? OCZ Technology's Colossus is the outfit's first in the desktop SSD space, and with capacities scaling as high at 1TB, it's certainly tempting for performance junkies who just can't pry themselves away from their tower. The benchmark-minded kids over at PC Perspective were able to get a drive in with final firmware a few weeks back, and they've pushed out a full review just prior to these things hitting retail en masse. Needless to say, all the numbers... Read Full Story
Black Friday deals roundup: Walmart, Target and NewEgg
From:  kijo.co.uk
We suspect this will be the final round of Black Friday ad leaks -- you know, considering that Black Friday is but a few days away -- but it seems as if the gadget world has saved the best (or at least the biggest) for last. As usual, we're not spotting any major steals that'd be worth lining up a dozen hours in advance for, but the $78 Blu-ray player and $10 BD films from Wally World may be worth paying your neighbor to snag for you. Check 'em all out below... if you dare.Black Friday deals... Read Full Story
Robot Wine Rack Isn’t Fooling Anyone with That Disguise [Wine]
From:  kijo.co.uk
The designers say the mustache on this Robot Wine Rack is optional, but let's be honest with ourselves, shall we? We all know one does not in good taste forgo the donning of a mustache when one is readily available. And one is available for this peculiar little four bottle $40 wine rack. If nothing else, it's a quirky take on the venerable counter top wine rack. [Etsy via Cool Material via Gear Fuse] Read Full Story
Texminator Arcade Game Adds Competitive Edge to Texting [Arcades]
From:  kijo.co.uk
Meet the Texminator. It's an arcade cabinet that tests your texting speed. It was also inevitable. Seriously now, my youngest sister has a phone she never uses—save for texting. LOLs and ttyl's have long replaced spoken word, and the clickity clack of her slider phone keyboard easily drowns out the family small talk at the dinner table during holidays. It's only natural that some entrepreneur would turn this phenomenon into a game and make a little coin off of it. The game features arca... Read Full Story
