Between shows, most media types make a beeline back to our sanctuary, the media room. Some people are looking to get at the computers and fax machines; others are just looking for a meal. I'm part of the latter group, but I also use the media room to reconnect with friends and make new ones. This year, there were no little fruit tarts and I was more than disappointed. It's the first official day of L'Oreal Fashion Week at the Liberty Grand. I had a minor panic attack on my travels to the venue. I thought it was in the same location as last year. I glanced at the address details and only the Exhibition Place stuck in my mind. I assumed it was Muzik and we all know what happens when you do that. It is packed in Boutique Le Trou. I can't even recognize the place, it's an empty white space now. Seats run the length of the store and edge the runway that runs down the middle. I'm right up close, perfect for seeing the details. The energy in the room is warm and friendly; something you don't see often at a fashion show. I'm psyched for a great show. I previously talked about Project Runway coming to Canada on blogTO. At the time the details were fuzzy; the show is coming but no one was sure when. Those details have ironed themselves out and Project Runway Canada will air in the Fall on the newly re-branded network Slice (formally the Life Network). I arrived at the Four Seasons Centre of the Performing Arts on a Saturday afternoon. The kind people at the Canadian Opera Company provided me with a free ticket in the hopes that I would write about my experiences. Admission is normally $7 for adults, $5 students/seniors and children under 12 are free. They offer two tours on Saturday, one at 11:45am and the other at 12 noon.
