Idea Place

I’m not sure if you’re all the same as I am, but there are generally one or two places in my house (or in my area) that when I go there, I get the best ideas. I don’t know what it is about these places but for some reason they get my creative juices flowing.

My main “idea place” is the shower. Yeah, I’m not joking. I get some of my very best ideas while showering. Rather inconvenient isn’t it? Since I can’t write anything down for future reference and all. Well, I suppose I could. But that would just get soggy. What is it about showering that sparks my synapses? I get all kinds of ideas while in the shower. Blogs to create, what to make for dinner, research paper topics, blog posts, things to buy, marketing ideas, etc. That’s not to say that these ideas are all good ones.

You wouldn’t believe the number of blogs that I have created purely based on shower ideas. I may have one or two posts on them, so they aren’t necessarily a big success but the idea came from the shower. I would have thought of something new, jumped out and dried off, then skipped to the computer to create a new blog. The next week, I’ll have forgotten all about it and moved on to something new.

I wonder what it is about the shower. Is it because I love showering so much? That I’m so happy, warm and soapy in there? Do ideas flow better when one is most content? I should really look this stuff up! You know, with my fresh Psychology degree and all. Might as well use it for something.
