Cholesterol Treatments
There are a variety of medical treatments which are commonly used to help treat high cholesterol levels, and bad cholesterol ratios. Most of these treatments are similar to the same treatments used for various heart disease problems, because the two issues usually go hand in hand.
Dietary and exercise changes are one of the first recommendations made to help improve your cholesterol levels. Changing your diet for instance, so that you're eating less saturated fat but more healthy fats can help improve your HDL cholesterol while lowering your LDL. Lowering your LDL cholesterol is usually the primary goal of treatment, because this can reduce, slow, or even stop the build up of fatty deposits in your arteries which could cause blockages.
