Chris Hutcherson’s Communications Skills Bring Business Success
When you look at a successful business career, you’ll find that communications skills are the bedrock of all other success. Without the ability to explain ideas and plans to clients and colleagues, all other talents are secondary. Whether you’re teaching in front of a classroom, interviewing candidates for top-level positions, making a sales presentation, or bringing retailers and credit card companies together to design fund-raising programs for schools, communications skills are very important.
Chris Hutcherson’s first career was in the classroom, teaching junior high and high school band. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education, and taught for over eight years. His classroom skills stayed with him when he left teaching to begin a new career in business.
His first corporate job was as a personnel recruiter, finding top management candidates for Fortune 1000 companies. Later, he moved to professional fund-raising, providing sales and training and developing programs to raise money for schools all over the country. More recently, he’s worked on credit card loyalty programs and worked on launching Internet television.
Hutcherson’s Personal Contacts a Key Factor
Although much of his recent work has involved cutting-edge technology, Chris Hutcherson has never forgotten that the personal touch is still important. He has made presentations to thousands of schools, drawn on the contacts he’s made over a long career, and built partnerships to bring businesses together in the service of a greater cause.
