The Research Proven Alternative To Ritalin. Let’s Cure Our Children Naturally!

ADHD is a serious condition. It is robbing our children of their education and self esteem. As parents we want to do what’s best for our children, to help them succeed in this fast paced world of ours. We depend on our doctors for guidance, but what if that guidance is just flat out wrong?

Ritalin is not the answer for ADD or ADHD. It is merely a band-aid at best, and a Band-Aid that appears to have some serious long-term effects.

Using brain imaging, scientists have found that, in pill form, Ritalin - taken by thousands of British children and four million in the United States - occupies more of the neural transporters responsible for the ‘high’ experienced by addicts than smoked or injected cocaine.

A normal dose administered to children blocked 70 per cent of the dopamine transporters. ‘The data clearly show the notion that Ritalin is a weak stimulant is completely incorrect,’ said Volkow. Cocaine is known to block around 50 per cent of these transporters, leaving a surfeit of dopamine in the system, which is responsible for the hit addicts crave.

So why in the world are we giving this drug to our children? Especially when there is a researched proven alternative! An alternative that has proven time and time again, not only to assist in the effects of ADD and ADHD, but to improve learning function and overall health as well. In England, as you will read below, they want to administer this supplement to ALL their school children after research has proven that it improves brain development.

So why are we still giving our children this Ritalin drug? There is no excuse!

Fish oil ‘boosts pupil performance’
“PUPILS’ GCSE results improved dramatically after they were given fish oil supplements as part of a nutrition study.
The 15 and 16-year-olds took Omega-3 fish oil for 12 weeks in the critical run up to their exams last year.
A total of 34% passed five GCSEs at grade C or higher, compared with 27% in 2004.
On average, they exceeded the results predicted for them by one grade.
Pupils taking fish oil also did significantly better than expected in reading tests set by researchers.”

“HYPERACTIVE children could benefit more from taking fish oil supplements than stimulant drugs, new research has revealed.
It comes a week after Education Secretary Alan Johnson said children in Britain might be given fish oil supplements to improve their concentration in class.
The latest findings came from a trial carried out at the University of South Australia in Adelaide, which studied 132 children aged seven to 12 suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Of those given a mix of Omega-3 fish oil and Omega-6 primrose oil, nearly 50 per cent saw a significant reduction in their symptoms.”

“A closer look at fish oil, ADHD and kids with learning difficulties
In that trial UniSA’s Dr Natalie Sinn found notable improvements in up to 50 per cent of children over 30 weeks taking fish oil capsules rich in the omega-3 fatty acid EPA.”
“EPA and DHA are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids that are both found in fish oil,” Dr Sinn said. “We know that omega-3 fatty acid DHA is also very important for brain development, and many parents are confused as to which formulation of fatty acids to buy for their children.

Fish Oil Research And ADHD
“A combination of fish oil and evening primrose oil capsules can help children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, otherwise known as ADHD. This is according to a study run by the University of South Australia and CSIRO. PhD student Natalie Sinn conducted the research which involved children with ADHD-related problems and found her results mirror a similar investigation conducted in Durham, England where that study found fish oil supplements improved concentration and cognition in children diagnosed with attention problems.”

Fish oil supplements for all schoolchildren
“Children may be given food supplements at school to improve their behaviour and studying performance.
A daily shot of Omega 3 fish oil would be supplied to pupils as young as five. . .
. . . Professor Michael Crawford, one the UK’s leading experts, said: ‘It is a proven fact that Omega 3 improves brain development. It is one of the fundamental building blocks of human and animal life.”

There is no excuse to drug our children, ever! But especially when there is a research proven, natural and essential alternative that could not only solve the immediate problem, but also assist in eliminating any future problems.
