Ok , I will try and write a post today that is in part political and part personal. Unfortunately BlogSpot is preventing me posting as a post I tried to post over 10 days ago the publish button somehow mysteriously will not work. The "save" button saves the auricle as a draft but damn even today I cannot seem to get it to publish? Has Google been bought out to edit blog publications?
So now we will go with the personal and political. Thursday August 11, 2011 was a horrible day. I went into... Read Full Story

Ok , the storm of the debt debate is over. We are all pretty much dissatisfied over the results, and then to add insult to injury we had our credit rating lower by Standard and Poor's . Funny in it's own way that the government finds what happened to it is the same thing that for years have been happening to consumers yet have done nothing to fix the credit rating problems that exist in this country despite public outcry to do so. Now all those state Republican Governors (that includes my own... Read Full Story

I've always wanted to take a cruise. It is something I have never done and thought, "man what a fun time I could have". I have fantasized, shopped around and asked friends, associates and co-workers what is the best ocean liner to take? Most folks tend to agree Caribbean cruises are the best, though a few have espoused the beauty of taking an Alaskan cruise. I have always pictured myself on the deck of an ocean liner sipping some rum based drink with the little colorful umbrella in it feeling... Read Full Story

For over a year now I have pondered this next piece because of some of the controversial thoughts and ideas I plan to put forth in the form of questions to you my Dear and apparently loyal readers in California, and surprisingly New Delhi , India. Then there is my loyal scholar friend in Canada and others scattered around North America. Probably my favorite is the lil chicken right wing critic who pops in now then under the name anonymous, leaving the latest in Faux Noise tag line comments... Read Full Story

Yes, my articles have gotten sparse, my health went through a bad 3 months and to be honest my disgust with both parties has drained me of the energy to put into the time and research it takes to offer up a coherant and decently written opinion pieced backed by research and factual tidbits. Recent legislative changes though in several states have alarmed me. Most notably the fact that in states such as Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Indiana though are particularly alarming. The fact that not... Read Full Story

Yes, once again I must apologize for my sporadic writing .....but I am trying to improve, and so I am starting a new Genesis for this blog. Yes the hope I hold is that this will converge into more a a group effort to create and express new " idealthoughts " on today's issues that if we look at what is happening in Tunisia , Egypt and Wisconsin we began to see both in a broader term as well as a more focused term and that others here will write their thoughts, opinions and observations for... Does anybody remember the campaign slogan of the Democrats this past election. If you voted for a Democratic candidate, you were " d riving forward" but to vote Republican meant to go in r everse ? Well you asked for it this last election and if Republicans have their way we are venturing back to a time when the bible and nobility set the laws and the average person (you and me) have no say in how our lives are managed. In other words a Christian version of Sharia law . In an article... Read Full Story

Dear Mr. Griffin, I have read the reports of your suspension of Keith Olbermann , and many of the views from other pundits, both liberal and conservative. One asked if you, and your parent company GE were now trying to curry favor with the Republicans with this suspension. Interesting question, but not what I was thinking. My question Sir, is to ask you one of Keith Olbermann's rhetorical questions. Have you heard of the Constitution? If so, have you read that document? Specifically the First... Read Full Story

Tuesday's results are in and congrats to the Republicans who won their respective races for both Houses of Congress. Now what? Unlike many voters I remember the eight years of Republicans being in charge, and I saw where we ended up (in a hole we still haven't gotten out of). For those of you that can't even remember yesterday, I recall how the party of the rich filibustered every bill that came up on the floor of the Senate, including the small business bill which was authored by Republicans...
