Neighbour From Hell
Any homeowner will quickly tell you the importance of good neighbours, particularly those that have lived near to a bad one. I have had the good fortune to have had very good neighbours with the exception of maybe one or two that were somewhat below average. In our first condo in Toronto it became clear that when the odour in the stairwell changed from curry to the sweet aroma of Ghanga weed it was time to move on so we bought a house in a suburban town. We were in a new subdivision with a bu... Read Full Story
Government’s Wasteful Habits
It’s time to create a new model for Government and it won’t affect the Charter of Rights or the Constitution in any way shape or form. This model will change only the way the Government handles the taxpayer’s money. First each area of Government that has a budget must and spends money must have their employees take an oath to handle all financial transactions using the North American “Good Accounting Practices (GAP)” and sign a document to that affect. Next the fiscal year of 2008 will be use... Read Full Story
Tragic Decision to Try Terrorist Masterminds in Civilian Court
The Liberal minded folks in the US Government have finally gone over the edge in a politically motivated exercise that will no doubt backfire on them somewhere down the road. The decision to bring these self admitted terrorists to New York City and put them on trial for their crimes is an attempt to provide a forum for the Dem’s to show they can be tough while also being fair. The idea is to show the American electorate that they can trust the Democrats with National Security while providing ... Read Full Story
Women..... A Wonder That is Yet to be Understood
Frankly I must say I love women. Now of course in the terms of lasting relationships I love my wife first and foremost as she is the true love of my life but I do enjoy the entire female gender for a variety of other reasons. My mother-in-law is an inspiration as she is the truest definition of a matriarch but with vive and ardour that are rarely seen in much younger women. From a family perspective, I love both my sisters but in truth my baby sister is my favourite. She is more like me than ... Read Full Story
My humble apologies
Just when you thought you knew just about everything, something comes along and rocks your world. I must offer my sincerest apologies to all Egyptians the world over. You see, I dressed as an Egyptian for Halloween. I had no idea that was a bad thing. You see, I was drawn by the beautiful silky hair and the flowing gowns and the lovely gems as like the Egyptian women of history. As it turns out, that may have been a bad thing. You see, it turns out that dressing up on Halloween as someone who... Read Full Story
Mish Mash Wednesday
I couldn’t think of anything dramatic to write about today so I’m just going to jot down whatever pops into my head. (Within the boundaries of good taste of course). First I found out that I am not the only person in the world that knows two beautiful women named Mary Sue. I learned that the one in South Carolina named M’Sue was really a Margie Sue so it appears that I am just a normal run of the mill guy after all. I am elated that so many have embraced Remembrance Day as an important event.... Read Full Story
Fort Hood Massacre
It is more than interesting to watch how the major news networks report on this horrific story. The obvious facts are that an individual in the military went onto the base at Fort Hood and proceeded to shoot people with a gun killing 13 and wounding up to 31 others. The so called mainstream media immediately reported that this guy had snapped and shot people while he was insane. The Muslim and Arab organizations within the States immediately denounced this act and the individual. Then came th... Read Full Story
DID YOU KNOW
Tides are created because the Earth and the moon are attracted to each other, just like magnets are attracted to each other. The moon tries to pull at anything on the Earth to bring it closer. But, the Earth is able to hold onto everything except the water. Since the water is always moving, the Earth cannot hold onto it, and the moon is able to pull at it. Each day, there are two high tides and two low tides. The ocean is constantly moving from high tide to low tide, and then back to high tid... Read Full Story
Yankees Win...What’s New???
Another notch in the New York Yankee’s belt... the “2009 World Series Championship”. It seems like the Bronx Bombers always find a way to get to the big game and then more often than not win it as well. Some younger folks may think this started in the 90’s with Joe Torre and Steinbrenner but it goes back much farther than that. Back to the time of Casey Stengal, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig,Billy Martin, Reggie Jackson, Mickey Mantle, and Joe DiMaggio of course. In my generation, and remember I was ... Read Full Story
2009 George Orwell Where are You?
If you haven’t read the famous book by George Orwell written prior to the 1950’s you should take the time to peruse this phenomenal piece of writing. It has been a long time since I have turned the pages of this novel but when I was driving home the other night it automatically popped into my head as I heard about the New LED’s being installed on this very highway. Now instead of the normal one colour screens with simple text on them hanging over the roadway we will now be able to see large f... Read Full Story
