Michael Masnick from TechDirt I've been spending plenty of time talking to people, reading up and listening to various views on the whole financial crisis. In the meantime, I wanted to start with my own thoughts. First off: this situation is complicated. The deeper you dig into it, the more you can begin... Read Full Story
Maybe Larry Ellison can do what the Business Technology Blog can't. If software doesn't work out, Ellison should consider a career in stand up Earlier this week, we wrote that the term "cloud computing" now seems to apply to just about anything even loosely associated with the Internet, making it effectively meaningless. But our rant is nothing compared to what Oracle's chief executive unleashed Thursday at his company's analyst day. Ellison spoke for a few minutes about Oracle and his... Read Full Story

To me, anything I can imagine, I can find a software doing it - that's the beauty of an open platform. Last year when Apple introduced its first 2G iPhone, I got a chance to compare it side by side with my 8525, and I chose my 8525, simply because iPhone cannot do so many things that I already do everyday on my Window Mobile phone. Recently after... Read Full Story

9/01/2008 02:10:00 PMAt Google, we have a saying: "launch early and iterate." While this approach is usually limited to our engineers, it apparently applies to our mailroom as well! As you may have read in the blogosphere, we hit "send" a bit early on a comic book introducing our new open source browser, Google Chrome. As we believe in access to information for everyone, we've now made the comic publicly available -- you can find it here. We will be launching the beta version of Google... Read Full Story
