This painting is slightly out of focus even though I did use a tripod and the color is a bit stronger but it is pretty close. I have been shooting without a flash and using the zoom so that is probably knocking it out of kilter. Six attempts and I settled for the best of the lot. I'm not a big fan of still life painting; but, if you paint a daily before noon, your lunch is right in front of you. Read Full Story
I made the mistake of not doing a painting each day after a disappointingly poor turn out at my studio for the Longmont Studio Tour. I busied myself with some volunteer work and just groused around until I realized I missed the brain activity of painting everyday. I chose this small pumpkin and onion set because I loved how the colors look against the pink cloth; the reflexed lights and shadows were especially fun to catch. Read Full Story
