Seesmic, just launched a new Thwirl support for FriendFeed. I posted about this on CapturetheConversation.com. What I love the best about the application is the discussion tracking in FriendFeed.
Now, I use Twhirl for tracking and responding to Twitter too. Lack of Thread Monitoring
My biggest compliant or frustration with Twitter is the lack of "thread monitoring".
Here's the issue: I'm following @smazurov on Twitter, and I see that he's posting comments on Twitter to someone that I'm not... Read Full Story
It's time for organizations to have a major realization breakthrough when it comes to their employees and social media and understanding the idea behind the "viral expansion". We get many organizations coming to Room 214 seeking 'viral' communications programs. What we see in the WOM market, are organizations stepping in and offering methodologies to help spread a company's message through researching the top blog influencers and seeding them in hopes they will be the ones to spread the... In Social Media, temptation is everywhere. The temptation to travel down wormholes that have nothing to do with your original intention of visiting a blog or doing research is commonplace. As a social media agency, the biggest temptation is Astroturfing (definition form wikipedia): Astroturfing in American English is a neologism for formal public relations campaigns in politics and advertising which seek to create the impression of being spontaneous, grassroots behavior, hence the reference... My friend Patrick Perugini and I have been working together for quite a long time now. Patrick is a former technology marketer that left the marketing world behind to pursue a job that he was passionate about. I remember getting the call a few years ago when he told me that he is going to sell chainless bicycles. I was totally jealous. How cool is that? Patrick founded Dynamic Bicycles and has been extremely successful selling his line of chainless bikes. Recently Patrick made on post on... Read Full Story
Room 214 is working with SmartyPig.com, an Web 2.0 piggy bank, on it's Internet marketing, word of mouth campaign. One thing we do for SmartyPig is to track the online conversation to monitor what is being said and help them prioritize responses.
One part of our strategy was to get their co-founder Jon Gaskell signed up on Twitter and start posting updates, conversing and reaching out to influencers and consumers interested in SmartyPig.
Just recently Bailey posted on Twitter, that he liked... Read Full Story

I still think that it would be very wonderful to have. I think that... Read Full Story
Congratulations to a colleague and friend, Brett Astor ,for publishing his first book: Direct Response Radio: The Way to Greater Profit with Measurable Radio Advertising.
It was quite the achievement. Brett came into our offices at Room 214 yesterday with the book in hand and a sense of accomplishment. I have people encouraging me to write a book, but it's one of those goals I've never seemed to be able to reach. It takes some serious dedication to sit down and hammer it out. The website... Battlestar Galactica Rocks Just watched the season premiere of Battlestar Galactica last night - via Hulu. This is by far the best TV Sci-Fi ever written. I love X-Files but they didn't know when to stop. When Mulder left the show - WTF? This is Battlestar Galactica's last season, executive producer Ron Moore has a great instinct for when to call it an end. What I find most intriguing and ingenious about Battlestar Galactica is how they absolutely nail social media. From amazing... Read Full Story

Every time I hear MLK speak I get chills. I've posted his I Have A Dream speech on the CaptureTheConversation blog.
What a day that must have been for those gathered at the Lincoln Memorial.
I love U2 and find a peace and hope in the song Pride. So on this day - April 4, when MLK was assasinated, I hope you can take a few moments of your day to remember a great American.
