Yes, it’s a cruel and uncalled-for statement. It’s also one that needs to be stated. I know I’ve been ranting a lot lately (this is the second one) but sometimes the best way to be constructive is to slap people across the face and say, “Wake up!”
There is a return on investment with properly run, strategically planned social media campaigns. This has been proven over and over again by businesses big and small who are willing to do more than just hire any old co... Read Full Story
Despite recent indications that large corporations are not understanding social media sites such as Twitter, it’s clear that there are some that are finally getting it. A recent benchmarking study by Business.com followed up by a post by friend and cohort Joe Turner demonstrates how Social Media has gone corporate.
The only thing truly surprising about this is how long it has taken for them to get it. Social media as a whole has been leading the way in new spends for businesses of all ... Read Full Story

WHAT ORGANIC MEANS AND THE USDA STANDARDS
With the popularity of organic dairy and beef products on the rise in the last few years, it is important for the American people to be aware of what organic really means, and what it does not.
We often trust the USDA to do all the work for us when determining whether or not the food we are buying is actually organic, or just claiming to be. We did some research to determine if we are being fooled. The results are infuriating and enlightening.

More time has been spent watching videos online in 2009 than reading emails. This is the first time that has happened in a year, but it won’t be the last. YouTube is the biggest video site on the Internet, so we will discuss it as the primary source of video marketing, but it’s definitely not the only one.
This is one part of a five part series that will be posted on various sites. It covers the basics: a 30,000 foot view of the various social media sites as well as easy, practic... Read Full Story

Digg normally rolls out new features poorly. The debacle that was the “new and improved” dupe detector has yet to show signs of improvement. The Diggbar changes are still a sore spot for many, especially in the way that it was rolled out, changed, and re-rolled out.
Digg Trends is, for now (crossing fingers), a new feature that seems to be doing what it’s supposed to do.
I was terrified when I saw the story below listed as a Trending Topic and held this blog post until it ha... Read Full Story

This screenshot was taken from Mechanical Turk, a site that specializes in letting businesses “outsource” mundane activities for pennies.
Worried now? You should be. Here is a respected site that is PAYING people to review your dealership. What are the people going to write? It doesn’t matter. The idea is to get enough unique content ... Read Full Story
