A Chance to Encourage
Pete and I have just found out that one of our newest Gus’ Gang kids, Isaac Bowers, has died.  He was just a few weeks old and was awaiting heart surgery at Vanderbilt.  We will be dropping of one of our GUS Boxes (God Understands Suffering…care package) when we attend the funeral service.  If you so feel led, please scoot on over to our Gus’ Gang blog and leave a message of condolence or encouragement for Isaac’s parents.  Messages like these were such an encouragemen... School Shooting In TN
I was checking out the online news sites to see if there was anything that caught my attention...and I found this report. I was surprised to find that this shooting took place in Knoxville, TN...where I grew up and where my family still lives. It is incredibly sad that things like this happen...Ryan McDonald was the teen who was shot. Let's all remember his family in our prayers and let us all remember to pray for the children who saw this happen. My heart breaks for them too...I wou... Read Full Story
I’m Back!
All three of my readers will be pleased to know that I am officially back to blogging!  I’ve been spending these past few weeks getting ready for school…my school and school for the kids.  I still have a little bit to do, but I’m ready for the most part….my house needs to be in better shape, though.  I’ll still be working on that for awhile! ha! Anyway…it’s good to be back… Read Full Story
Children’s ER ,Botched Blood Drive and an A!
Pete and I attended the new Children’s ED (emergency department…sheesh…what was wrong with emergency room?) at the Med Center today.  We arrived just a smidge late and few gals thought we were trying to get into the ER…oops…ED.  Seriously, we were standing there with pleasant looks on our faces, dressed fairly nice (for us!) and no blood was pouring out anywhere…IF we were in need of emergency care, we would not be standing there listening to the all the bl... A Few Name Changes
OK...I think I've figured it out...for a little while! The new name here is "Sheesh-a-Moley". Yes, it used to be the name of my crafty goodness blog, but I moved it...yes...I did. Sheesh-a-Moley fits this blog. So there...I know, I know...it's confusing. I can't help it...that's just how I roll right now! lol!! Read Full Story

I have always have mixed feelings about kids in entertainment. There are some kids who have parents that are crazy psycho about getting them the best roles and opportunities…not necessarily to help the child but to help themselves. You see this frequently….living through the child. It’s not just happening in entertainment because I’ve seen it on the football field too! Anyway, just as there are those parents who are psycho-crazy, there are also parents who genuinely desire to help their c... Read Full Story
Needing More Help!
Our son, Gus, who passed away at 16 months, was profoundly and bilaterally deaf. Most insurance companies DO NOT pay for hearing aids…ours was one of those that did not. We were fortunate enough to get help from a local group that flat out paid for Gus’ hearing aids which were $10,000 a pair. A lot of people are not in the same situation that we were and they are having to pay for their child’s hearing aids out of pocket. If that had been our case, Gus would not have had the hearing aids... Read Full Story

Did you notice that I was around for a little while??  Well, that’s because I fell asleep on the couch!….nooooooo….never fear though….did you also notice that one of my dear boys, Nik, stepped up to the plate and posted for me??  Isn’t that the nicest thing in the world…seriously, it was nice!! Anyway….it’s over!  This year was MUCH harder than last…do you think it’s because I’m a year older?! lol!! If you still want to donate,... Read Full Story
