Making Planning Your Wedding Easier
Many newly engaged women feel a lot of stress when thinking about planning their wedding. A lot of work goes into planning the ideal wedding and so many people do not know where to begin. It is simple. Start at the beginning.
Okay, let’s get started on planning that wedding. The first step is to tell everyone this fabulous news. Whether you decide to tell people in person, have an engagement party or send out announcements you need to decide how to let everyone know.
Setting the date is the next thing you should accomplish. You need to decide exactly when you are getting married. Having a specific date instead of say summer of 2011 makes it feel more real and important. So start thinking about just when you want to be married.
However, if you do not know that date you are getting married and there are no special dates or holidays that you want to get married on it is time to decide when you do want to get married. Narrow down your choices. Make a decision on the time of the year or the season and go from there. Once you narrowed it down to a year and season or month look at that time frame and eliminate any dates you want to avoid. These would include holidays you don’t want to be married on, birthdays and anniversaries of potential guests as well as any days that bring negative feelings to you, your fiance or your families.
Once the basics are done, announcing your engagement and setting the wedding date, you really need to tackle your wedding budget. This may be one of the least pleasant things you need to do while planning your wedding but it is pertinent to understand how much money you have to spend so you can plan the perfect wedding with the least amount of snags as possible.
Now comes the time where you must choose where to have your ceremony and reception. These are important decisions, as well as decisions with lots of options. Decide what kind of wedding you want, whether it is a traditional church wedding, a homey garden wedding, a beach wedding or something entirely other than those. Once you know that you can start making decisions on which places suit you best.
Choosing the reception site is similar to choosing your ceremony site. The reception and ceremony sites should be able to add to each other or seem like they belong together. It is great if you can easily decorate each the same or similar so the events feel linked.
Planning your wedding may seem daunting at first, but once you become organized and start thinking about what you have to do it really isn’t that hard. Just remember the basics. Keep the planning simple, focus on what needs to be done but try not to overstress and get organized. Make lists, check them off. Read and research online and off about weddings, wedding planning and talk to whoever you can about their own weddings and experiences.
