WARNING: Bad attorneys in Champaign, Illinois
This is purely my humble opinion but it is based on hard cold facts.1. Lynne R Feldman is an unethical attorney who participated in a scheme to steal money from clients and then hide the money from the IRS and the Illinois Department of Revenue.2. R. Michael Brown is an unethical attorney who lied in written documents to the IRS (a federal agency that he appears in front of) and then ignored the IRS instructions to stop cheating associate attorneys.I was an attorney at the law firm of Erwin... Health Care Reform - Thank you US Senator Richard Burr (NC)
To the left is the 11-5-2009 photo taken in DC on the Senate steps of the Capital. The gentleman in the khaki pants and blue jacket is US Senator Richard Burr. He is speaking with NC patriots who drove up on a moments notice to speak their minds about the current health care debate.Patriot US Senator Richard Burr did something that NC residents are not used to from their elected officials -- Burr listed to them and actually cared! God bless this man.As a care-giver and patient, I see the p... Read Full Story

Dr Hope Uronis is a dangerous oncologist
I read an interesting tidbit on Duke's website. http://snipie.com/pnf It is tough for me to look at the face of a woman (Dr. Hope Uronis) who nearly killed my father because she ignored a Duke Clinic oncologist's recommendation.Apparently a very lucky woman was referred to "Dr" Hope Uronis, who served as a hospitalist while my dad was an in-patient at Duke University Hospital (DUH).My dad was sent to DUH in November 2007 by his phenomenal Duke Clinic oncologist Dr. Michael Morse. Unlike t... Read Full Story
Care-giving means sleeping with "broken leg"
My leg looks more and more deformed. Not really swollen - just deformed. I need crutches to walk.My mom looks at the knee area is afraid. But she knows what I know . . . I have nowhere to go to get medical (especially orthopedic) help in North Carolina.I just have to wait - and pray - that my Chicago doctors will not abandon me like the Duke doctors. I have asked my Catholic priest here in NC to help me pray in that regard.Periodically my mom looks at my knee and cries. She wishes she co... Read Full Story
Regardless of award - elderly cancer patients should be afraid of Dr. Veshana Ramiah
I just read the funniest thing on the Internet today! "Dr" Veshana Ramiah (Duke University Hospital hospitalist) won an award! http://snipie.com/tltI wonder whether the group that gave this woman an award (Southern Society for Clinical Investigation) knows that she nearly killed my dad by completely ignoring a chemotherapy related infection? Hmmm. Maybe they should know to whom they are giving awards. Dr. Ramiah received third place in the same category for her abstract entitled, “Gene... Read Full Story
Protect your elderly - avoid Duke University Hospital
Readers of this blog have a sense that my dad (75 years old) has Stage 4 cancer (colon to liver) and suffered complications from chemotherapy. In fact, in August 2008, Duke hospitalist Veshana Ramiah, MD ignored an infection on dad's left foot. That's a foot that underwent a standard ankle fusion in February 2008. Ramiah did not get the basic concept that an infection could have moved to the metal in the man's foot. Now more than one year later, dad has an external fixator. And the bone is not... Read Full Story
I was injured at Duke Hospital
It has been some time since I have felt strong enough to blog.About two and one-half weeks ago I had a (should have been) simple MRI at Duke University Hospital (North) in Durham, North Carolina. My orthopedic surgeon in Chicago requested an MRI. Since I am in NC caring for dad and since I have seen the same orthopedic surgeon at Duke for 7 years, I thought that my Duke surgeon could communicate with the Chicago surgeon for the benefit of the patient. Silly me.The procedure was stopped abru... Read Full Story
Dad has one more month
My dad (76 year old Stage 4 cancer patient who was horribly mistreated by Duke University Hospital hospitalists) has one more month in an external fixator. We have no law suit against Duke. But knowing dad is getting the exfix off soon does not make his moans and cries in pain any easier for me. Dad no longer trusts doctors and surgeons. They hurt him. They hurt me.All of the ObamaCare and Medicare in the world cannot put my dad's spirit back together again. Read Full Story
Tort Reform is not the answer
I was injured by an orthopedic surgeon's decision to perform absolutely unnecessary surgery. I trusted that physician. While I was wobbling around on crutches and the three surgeries failed, I became sad. The orthopedic surgeon's colleague put me on antidepressants, tranquilizers and a host of other psych drugs. That nightmare started in 2000 at Carle Clinic in Urbana, Illinois. Then the orthopedic surgeon shrugged his shoulders and said he did not know what to do. Okay. Terrific. In 200... Read Full Story
