I often get questions about what Mormons really believe. So, rather than respond in a political blog, I've started a discussion board where it's easy to interact with people who've been taught that Mormons have horns. :-)Join me and others on my free "Ask a Mormon" discussion board:http://www.mormonsites.org/forum/. I was in Jerusalem last week and can testify that it's still probably as safe to be a tourist in Israel as in Los Angeles or Miami. You just have to avoid the wrong places and times. On only one of my ten days there did we stay away from the inner city out of prudence as Israeli F-16's streaked overhead, bound for Gaza.Armed soldiers, police, and civilians are everywhere. But it's kind of comforting because as a tourist you know that all those weapons are loaded and... Read Full Story

Was Mitt Romney's campaign affected by Mormon bashing in the media and on the web? Romney's a Mormon, everyone knows that. What's the real truth about the Mormons anyway? When Romney's campaign was in full swing posts 'exposing' the Mormons clogged campaign blogs and comments. Anti-Mormon messages morphed out of nowhere like mushrooms after a rain storm. LDS authorities seemed astonished at the intensity of the criticism.Did the writers of those posts believe that elect... Competition is a familiar part of the American way. In the midst of the competition hearts throb, pulses race, and emotions run raw. In short, the process of reaching the end of the game is what we're really there for!The end of any competition results in disappointment for some, and jubilation for others. But we all go home AMERICANS!Today, with Mitt Romney's noble offer to unite the party in a time of war, WE HAVE A LEADER!I think it is incumbent on all conservatives to put the comp... For me it was a sad but proud moment when Mitt Romney announced that he is suspending his presidential campaign.Sad because I continue to believe that Romney is far and away the best qualified candidate for the nomination and the presidency. McCain is where he is only because the conservative vote was split between Romney and Huckabee. And proud because Romney's expressed motive for dropping out is to unite the party in a time of war. When Huckabee's spokesperson announced a bit later t... I think it's a given that unless Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney make a deal to defeat John McCain, or hot-headed McCain makes an unforgiveable public blunder, that McCain will be the Republican nominee.McCain cannot possibly beat Hillary or Obama in the general election. He doesn't have the smarts or the swelling grassroots backing of Republican conservatives, and he never will. That's why he's the temporary darling of liberals and the media - he's the right's weakest l... Read Full Story

It seems to me that conservatives and the Republican Party are in deep trouble now. The vote was split between Huckabee and Romney at a crucial time and McCain slipped into an undeserved commanding lead that will be very difficult to reverse. It's highly doubtful that McCain will be able to unite the party. And there's no chance whatsoever that he will be able to successfully debate either Hillary or Obama. He just doesn't have the smarts or the whole-hearted groundswell support of... Read Full Story

The major media is obviously supporting John McCain and putting down Mitt Romney.I was shocked this a.m. (Super Tuesday) at about 8:15 a.m. MST when polls were open, to see on the front page of foxnews.com a photo of the major presidential candidates of both parties. On Mitt Romney's face is a Hitler-type moustache and a double chin!By 8:40 a.m. the photo was replaced with a puff photo of Hillary Clinton. At 9:30 a.m. the photo was of a Romney supporter with huge scraggly beard and a strang... McCain's arrogant confidence that he'll win the Republican nomination may be exactly what's needed to energize grassroots conservatives and get the word out that McCain's not the man the media's portraying. The insider fix is in there's no doubt about it: Fool the people, make McCain the Republican nominee, and Obama becomes president, guaranteed...The TRUTH about each candidate should be reported by the media, not "news" created. Otherwise the American electo... Read Full Story
