Had a girl student walk up to me and tell me how she made cookie's for another student because it was his birthday... "Do you want to try one" she asked And as a good youth pastor, I said "of course" As I took the first bite I realized what I had done...I'd eaten a horrible cookie... I told her how delicious they are and asked how she made them and then she preceded to tell me about all the substitutes she used because she was out of things like EGGS!!!! Over the last few months I've been walking with a student through his "coming out" as a self-injurer...It's been a struggle at times to figure out how to best support this students as I felt so unaware of the inner workings of it all... So I asked for a referral from a trusted friend and he referred me to this book by Jerusha Clark...
