Two items for today's laundry list:
1) Hope that Lowell's hip heals
2) Pray to Pedro Serrano's voodoo gods (yeah, that crazy guy from "Major League") that if he doesn't, Casey Kotchman's bat will rise from its slumber.
Mike Lowell came into this season on the heels of a revolutionary labrum surgery, one so new that it is yet to be named (that Lowell, incidentally, hopes will be named after him). Alex Rodriguez and Chase Utley had similar surgeries, yet Lowell had the most complete, radical fo... Read Full Story

From FOX 9 News:
HOUSTON - Former Minnesota Twins infielder Chuck Knoblauch has been charged with assault for allegedly choking and hitting his wife.
A judge set Knoblauch's bond at $10,000 after he appeared in court Tuesday. According to the criminal complaint, Knoblauch's common law wife told police he hit her in the face, then choked her at their Houston home on Friday.
Knoblauch, 41, faces two to ten years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine, if convicted. Officers from the Memorial Villag... Read Full Story

Answering my criticsAs promised, I have attempted to answer the well-reasoned criticisms written in the comment section of my "10 most toxic NBA contracts" post. The best rebuttals involved my inclusion on the list of two small forwards who, to be honest, barely made the list: Luol Deng of the Chicago Bulls and Danny Granger of the Indiana Pacers. I'll take each player one at a time.Luol DengClick here to view Luol Deng's Win ResumeLuol Deng is set to be paid between $10 mill... Read Full Story

Practice
hasn't even officially started yet and the Orlando Magic are already
feeling disrespected. Even though the Magic are the defending Eastern
Conference champions, it seems nobody is picking them to return to the
Finals this year.In
fact, it was during their Finals matchup with the Lakers when Boston
Celtics star Paul Pierce tweeted to his followers, "Looked like a

According to Bob Gretz, the Chiefs have decided to stick tight with Tyler Thigpen at QB for the remainder of the season, and skip their initial plan to sign free-agent QB Dante Culpepper.
Evidently, the Chiefs coaching staff was happy enough with Thigpen’s play last Sunday against the Jets to pass on signing Culpepper, who retired earlier this year after he could not find a single team that was willing to give him a shot at a starting job.
Culpepper’s injury -plagued history may ... Read Full Story

After both Brodie Croyle and Damon Huard went down for the entirety of the season last week against Tennessee, the questions about the Chiefs’ quarterback situation were overwhelming.
Would they sign Dante Culpepper?
Who the heck is Quinn Gray?
Can Tyler Thigpen be more than a lifelong 3rd stringer?
After today’s disappointing defeat at the Meadowlands, the Chiefs are still nowhere close to addressing their QB problems for good, although no one in their right mind could h... Read Full Story

I won’t lie. I’m pretty disappointed that the Chiefs could not find a way to get the victory they earned today at the Meadowlands against the Jets. They played inspired football once again, and after watching them get demolished last week at home versus the undefeated Titans of Tennessee, it was most definitely a breath of fresh air to see them execute on both sides of the ball.
To be perfectly honest, if it were not for the atrocious job done today by the referee crew, I doubt th... Read Full Story
