Dear Friends,I learn something new everytime I watch the movie The Secret. Last night, my hubby and I watched it for the third time. The first time, the movie gave me joy; the second time reinforced that joy; the third time...ah! The third time! It sank, and is sinking, into the deepest levels of my heart. Epiphanies are bubbling up from those levels like long lost sweethearts. I used to know them, didn't I? What I remember at present is indescribable. I will watch the mov... Read Full Story
I went to the Premiere for the movie, The Power of Mentorship, last night. The evening did not disappoint. Amid men and women with large-bodied cameras on the Red Carpet, I whipped out my little Canon Power Shot and snapped away at the Glitteratti with the best of them! Of course, I had to work double fisted, because there's no sound attached to my camera, so I'd thrust my tiny digital recorder into the happy melee when I wasn't snapping. Good stuff! I'll post some of the photos on ... Read Full Story

I thought I'd offer a progress report on my work applying the principles of The Law of Attraction in my life. The idea behind the law is profoundly simple: You get (in life) exactly what you put out. Your energy is matched entirely and precisely - whatever it is you walk around thinking and feeling is what you will produce for yourself in the future. The idea is to transform those experiences you don't want by imagining better/happier things happening to you. The more... Read Full Story
Ho ho ho! I've been "tagged!" Or "Me-Me'd" as it's also known! What is it? It's this fun little game of blog-tag going around. Someone tags you, and you tag six more bloggers. That means that in your blog, you link to the blogger who tagged you, state six useless facts about yourself, and then tag six new bloggers and leave a comment on their blogs to let them know they're IT. I think I'd better tag some new people before they're all taken! (Is this like a pyramid sch... Read Full Story
It's been a while since I posted. I've been wanting to write about my children at Casa De Amparo where I work as a volunteer, but all volunteers must agree, prior to starting work, not to write about specific children. As a writer, that's frustrating of course, but I understand. Their cases are unique, and they must be protected. I can however, tell you a little, in general terms, about Casa is and what we do there.Casa De Amparo is a facility housed in Mission ... Read Full Story
My husband and I enjoy our season tickets to the productions at La Jolla Playhouse in La Jolla, California. We thought wed found our all-time favorite show a couple years ago when we saw The Wiz, a lively interpretation of The Wizard of Oz featuring Black players. What a show that was! If, after seeing it, you had told me that a contender for my favorite would show up as an intellectual tangent into Beethovens life, I would have poo-pooed you. Dont get me wrong &... Read Full Story

Weddings are beyond beautiful for a lot of reasons, the best parties around. Most mothers-of-the-bride would agree, at least during the ceremony with the planning stages behind them. Not many experiences eclipse the opportunity to watch your daughter or son engage in a ritual that both illumines a life-long commitment and chronicles the end of an era. The cycle of childhood nearly completes with marriage (second only to giving birth), the reminiscences delegated to scrapbooks and o... Read Full Story
