Sunny Bunny X
Sunny Bunny X Crochet Stuffed Animal 24″ Tall Featured in March/April 2009 Creative Home Arts Club Magazine Designed by Deb Richey First off I think Bunny X is larger than 24″ - more like 26-28″. The direction in the magazine for the legs are not entirely correct as an Email correspondence  proved. Supplies: * 6 skeins of yarn (I used multi-colored instead of multiple colors, that way no need to change during crocheting. *Size G-6 crochet hook *A stitch marker - since you ar... Read Full Story
Quilt Finishing
Quilt Finishing Services & Costs A small survey While digging around on the internet the other day i came across a “Quilting Services” site, and being curious I went to it to see what was offered. It turned out the shop was local, to me. I decided to see what other offerings there were on the web. When I “Googled” I found 10,000 plus listings, so like other Quilting sites there are endless choices! I decided to do a very small comparative sampling to see what servi... Read Full Story
Crafting a Summer Card
Summer Card Crafting Simple Homemade Summer Cards Materials: Card Stock, Paper Stash, Item Stash, Computer Card Program I have made cards for the grandkids. Calling them “Summer Cards” at this point in time is wishful thinking! Yesterday and today 50’s and rain! The first of June is only 3 days away! The front cover is a collage, Found a different “summer” image for the base of each card, then added other summery elements; cutouts, transfers, and silk flowers. Ea... Read Full Story

Crafting The Year Book
The Yearbook Original Design A Multi-media collage homage to the year. Each page including the cover has a paper doll and a wizard. I started each page with a piece of card stock. Onto this I glued a seasonal appropriate picture from old calendar. Since they weren’t as big as the card stock I framed them with paper. I then randomly glued on tissue paper, again seasonally themed. After the base work I added; collage pictures, words, postage stamps, tissue paper etc.. The paper dolls were... Read Full Story
My Second Quilt
My Second Quilt Hollow Cube & Fly Foot Wall Hanging Machine Pieced-Hand Quilted While I wait to finish our film roll-witch has a picture of my Seascape Wall Hanging in its finished state, I’ll move onto my next project. For this one I wanted to do something a little bigger and a bit more entailed than the first one. I settled on four 8″ blocks. They are the same pattern, with variations in opposite sides. One block is the Hollow Cube which I got from Penny Halgren”s Quil... Read Full Story
My Seascape Part 3
Seascape Part 3 Wall Hanging After sewing the top together I made my sandwich of Top/Batting/Backing and pinned it in place. I then hand quilted in each segment. With the sky and water I quilted using the color swirls as my guide. With the rocks and light house I quilted around rocks, shoreline, lighthouse. I made a footprint pattern that I used for a pattern in the two small “sandy” areas. Lastly I used the homemade pattern on the two L shapes (pinned in place in second picture).... Read Full Story
My Seascape 2
Seascape Wall Hanging Phase 2 Working with the right then left halves of the top I machined each half together. The only tricky part was the “set in” when it came to putting the two halves together. I sewed 1 & 2 together then added 3 to them. Next was 4 to the end of 1 & 3. Last was 5 to the end of 2 & 3. I repeated the the same steps for the left half. Lastly I combined to two halves, with the set-in in the middle to complete the quilt top. I then added the border. T... Read Full Story

New Granddaughter’s Quilt
New Baby to be Quilt Pattern: Priscilla Bianchi Quiltmaker Sept/Oct 2005 My adaptation is borderless. I am also using black/white prints in the block corners. She used solid blacks or whites in every other block. My design wall was used on the floor to arrange & rearrange the blocks. Take no notice of the missing block block in the corner. Finnally desided on a Nemo or fish block. The quilt is now in the pinned all three layers together stage and some squares are quilted. Some of the squa... Read Full Story
