Oh Yeah, There Was a Basketball Game, Too…

The LA Sparks beat the Detroit Shock in another unremarkable WNBA game. Unremarkable, that is, until the last seconds of the game, which erupted into a full-scale brawl. After Detroit’s Pienette Pierson got all hard with LA’s Candace Parker in retaliation for some rough play on the past possession, Candace told someone to hold her earrings, and it was on. The two teams engaged in some very unladylike behavior, culminating with Detroit coach Rick Mahorn jostling LA’s Lisa Leslie, knocking her down like a stack of umbrellas (by accident). DeLisha Milton-Jones had her girl’s back, and went for a piece of Mahorn, who (fortunately for DeLisha) didn’t have a flashback to the days when he and Jeff Ruland were kicking ass and taking names. Mahorn may not have even felt her punching him; he looks like a mountain in a suit. And where in Hell did a guy that size manage to find a suit that was too big for him? It looked like he was wearing a bug tent.
