Earlier this year, Creative introduced Zii architecture for portable media player (PMP). The first SoC (System-on-Chip) based on this architecture was ZMS-05 that is presently used in Creative’s Zii EGG media player. According to NPD’s weekly tracking service, Windows 7 software unit sales in the US were 234 percent higher than Vista’s first few days of sales. However, revenue growth wasn’t as strong as Vista release. Also PC hardware sales showed only a modest increase at 49 percent in year-over-year sales and 95 percent over the week prior to launch.  Vista on the other hand had 68 percent rise in sales over the prior year and 170 percent over the week preceding the launch. Sony Creative Software has released a DVD containing 1,000 ringtones for the iPhone. The ringtones are grouped into three categories: music, sound effects, and spoken words/phrases. The ringtones on the DVD are included in .m4r and .mp3 formats for easy import in iTunes to syncing with iPhone. Toshiba has unveiled five new 1.8-inch hard drives ranging in capacity from 120GB to 320GB. The MKxx33GSG series features the first 1.8-inch 320GB hard drive ever released.
