“Two old bags on a bed in NYC” was not the original tag line for Louis Vuitton’s latest billboard and print ad, but why not? The craggy “bag” on the right is Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards. Celebrity photographer Ann Leibovitz snapped the photograph used in the campaign.
The advertisement’s real tag line is: “Some journeys cannot be put into words. New York. 3 a.m. Blues in C.” The bluesy guitarist is donating his fee to Climate Project, the environmental program founded by former U.S. VP... Read Full Story

Arts & Culture: Last year we told you that the King Tut 2 exhibit would be a great event to catch. It turns out that approximately 1.29 million visitors had similar feelings, as the “Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs” exhibit at the Franklin Institute was the number-one show of antiquities worldwide in 2007.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the show, which ran from February to September 2007 at the Franklin, averaged 5,375 visitors per day. The second largest drawing... Read Full Story

Home Entertainment: It is a whole new dimension! Playing games with Nintendo’s Wii console transforms players into on-screen characters. It is like falling through the looking glass and entering a new world. Ace the serve; drive the fairways; hit a homerun; knock down the six-ten split; and score a knockout. Tennis, golf, baseball, bowling, and boxing are included in the sports bundle that comes with a Wii console. This is more than a high-tech toy. It is an interactive home-entertainment... The company has over 35 models of speakers that incorporate AFDC technology, which means adjustable frequency distribution circuit. Luxury Electronics: Every picture may be worth a thousand words, but when you start hearing sounds coming out of the hanging artwork, perhaps it is time to immediately switch from the pitchers to the java. Luxury Toys: This is one of the most intriguing upscale gadgets I have ever reviewed. This is neither a video game nor a lawnmower run amok nor a dream. It really is a levitating hover scooter, replacing the magic carpet so often used by genies of the 20th century. It is not street legal, but it does travel up to 15 mph. Its recommended usage is over relatively level land, such as well-groomed grassy fields, and asphalt or concrete surfaces that are free of debris. It is ideal for parks... Read Full Story

Upscale Exercise Equipment: Recently, I came across a full-page ad in a widely acclaimed upscale-luxury publication for the ROM Time Machine by ROMFab that piqued our interest. According to the manufacturer, it is an exercise machine that provides a full-body workout in less than five minutes. The actual time is 240 seconds or four minutes. Such a claim accompanied by a $14,000-plus price tag prompted us to look a little closer.
The complexly designed machine, which looks like something out... Read Full Story
