I just got an idea. How about some incoming freshmen or their lovely parents email me questions they have about Lynn. I always write what I think is helpful, but maybe I’m missing some information. So fire away! email me at manderson5@email.lynn.edu ! I’m excited, lets see what happens! I wonder what questions I haven’t thought of yet? Hmm…. Read Full Story
Alone Time

I’ve been really enjoying having the condo in DC to myself for the last two weeks. It feels good to be home and really have my own space, privacy, and well, bathroom! I have a kitchen! And a TV! Don’t worry, I’m getting a TV next year for my dorm room, but no fancy cable sadly with a cool remote control. I’ve enjoyed sleeping in, and cooking all my meals. How I’ve missed cooking! Sadly at Lynn, we do not have community kitchens to allow students to cook. Although, that wouldn’t be a bad... Read Full Story
Graduation

When you come to Lynn as a Freshman, you never think about the day you will leave or have to move on. The great thing is that you never leave because you become Alumni. Its difficult to imagine as the Freshman the pace that college is and how quickly it passes by. Walking across the stage and receiving the “fake temporary” diploma almost feels surreal. Its a feeling of happiness, but also a sign of tears. I wasn’t really nervous about giving the commencement speach or any part of graduation... Read Full Story
My Summer Plans

So every college student gets asked at this time of the year, “What do you have planned this summer?” Well, my plans are simple but good. In a couple days, I start summer school. I am taking two classes, Hospitality Industry Seminar and Sports Skills I: Golf. I don’t really know what to expect from the first one, but the Golf class, I’ve heard that its just a how-to class. This may sound like a joke class, but it is actually a great concept since that is where most business deals are made... Read Full Story

So I’m sure a lot of you have heard about the Jeremy Tyler story. If not, Tyler is a junior in high school and is dropping out in order to go play basketball overseas as a professional. There are people who argue both sides and they have great points, but here is my take. While this is a decision that is up to he and his parents, I don’t agree with his decision. He is missing out on great experiences not only in college but in high school as well. He is not going to be able to walk across... Read Full Story
Walking home

Summer days have finally arrived. DC is bustling with people getting fit for summer and I’ve taken to walking home from work daily… Which is a good hour if I walk fast. I pass the White House, the Monument, the Mall and the Capitol. I’m adjusting to working life- just wish it was permanent and paid! I really do love it though- my job requires me to write formal letters to African presidents, attend very interesting discussions at think tanks, such as Brookings and work alongside a group of... Gym Class Heroes

So this is way past over due. Just been busy planning what I want to do this summer, which changes every single day. Ugh! Anyway, back to the concert. Seeing Gym Class Heroes live was really exciting and a lot of fun. I even got Michelle to come to the concert and she only listens to rock music. She came for a while until she remembered how much homework we had to do, on and that test we had first thing the next morning, but that didn’t stop me! I staid till the very end to only be covered... Read Full Story
A Night of Leadership

Student leadership is very strong on campus and each year I look forward to the leadership banquet. It is one of my favorite days on campus because it is a night where all of our hard work in student involvement is showcased. Tonight this night had more meaning than ever before because it has been four years of leadership that have made my college experience so memorable. Dress in purple, Taryn and I didn’t plan on matching, I had the opportunity to speak on behalf of Student Government... Read Full Story
Teams Are Plugging Along

Teams are plugging along trying to accomplish as much as possible in the twenty four hours. They think they are going to finish it all, but I am confident that they won’t. I know that each team has a strong representation of dedication, passionate, smart individuals, but I must say Taryn created riddles that challenge even an individual with the highest IQ. Some of the clues included: BE AN ACTIVE CITIZEN: 1.        What event on campus helped Lynn become the number one University for... Read Full Story
Amazing Chase: A Blue and White Battle

Whenever you start a new event on campus, you never know what to expect. Back in November when I came up with the idea to hosting a 24 hour scavenger hunt on campus that would encompass Lynn University and Boca Raton while fostering team work, community service, community awareness, and collaboration I didn’t know who would be interested in doing it. Tonight I found out! Yesterday afternoon at the captains meeting we had six teams signed up. I was getting so nervous. The first place prize... Read Full Story
