19th-Century Checks, Tools Remain Unclaimed
Several months back, a rider found several mounted checks dating back to 1884, along with tools from the period, at a bus station. Police made the discovery public but no one has claimed the items. Because the checks were prepared for display, police are once again looking for the owner(s) of the antiques. If no one claims the unusual finds, they will become the property of the Longmont Museum & Cultural Center. Most such found items are auctioned-off after 60 days.© C Harris Lynn, 2009 Read Full Story
