Wood flooring
I really like wood flooring. I would never have thought that it's easy to care for but it is and it's amazing what a difference it makes when a person is allergic to dust. Since we installed wood flooring I find that my allergies are so very much better. I use my inhaler half as often as I did with carpeting in the house.I have added area rugs for color too. I found a good site with great prices so have ordered a couple more for our bedroom. At www.rugsale.com they have some rugs that... Read Full Story
President Obama, the first 100 days
I'm a registered Republican as is my husband Gary. Originally I was a republican because my father was one and how could he be wrong? =)Well, I've grown up a lot since then and am not a dyed in the wool Republican as much as an American who votes for the person she believes in the most.I didn't vote for Obama, though I came close. Now that he's been elected our president, I must say that I am very happy with what I see and hear from him. I love that he stands for old time valu... Read Full Story
Warm weather striked again in South Texas
It's only May and already here in South Texas we are having temperature in the 90s. I'm not ready for this yet!I was talking to my neighbor this morning. She's just a young woman in her 30s and is either on a diet, just going on a diet or just coming off of one. Bless her heart! She's not alone, though, as we're all urged to watch our weight no matter our age. It's not about how we look so much as being healthy, feeling our best and of course, feeling good about oursel... Taking care of our bodies
Having good health is by far the greatest gift one can have, and one that needs to be taken care of. It's such an easy thing to do too, when you think about it. If your body signals that it's hungry, give it something from nature and not man made products. If it tells you that it's tired, rest. If not tired, move!! Do something that requires you to engage rather than just observe.A lot of people make staying healthy a big deal. Our bodies are amazing and are made to protect themse... Read Full Story
Swine flu
I don't know about the rest of you, but I am unsettled with all of the buzz about the swine flu that is spreading. Beside washing our hands and avoiding crowded, enclosed places, they are also recommending that people work at home if possible. That is a good idea if possible. In a report I was reading on the flu, it said that electronics were the biggest carriers of bacteria, TV remotes, keyboards, the computer mouse, cell phones, regular phones etc. It was suggested that we all spend some... So many toys, so little time
I think that as an adult that I have more toys than I did as a child. I also think that I'm not alone in this, that the rest of you adults out there have way too many toys too. We recently has texting added to our features. I am enjoying that, though my friends and family may wish I didn't have it as I do a lot of ... Read Full Story
I learn something new everyday.....
I overheard my daughter and her husband discussing "pos systems" the other day. I listened waiting for a clue as to what it was, but a clue never came along. So, once there was a lull in the discussion, I asked, "What is a pos system?" I have to tell you that my daughter is very business savvy. I truly admire her ability to think out of the box. She can see the big picture with ease and that ability has paid off for her over the years.I digress! POS systems are "Point... Read Full Story
A friend in need.....

I applaud her determination and know that she will accomplish what she sets out to do. She always does. She was also telling me about an appetite suppressant that she is taking that is called nuphedra. She said it was really helping her avoid snacking which has been her biggest problem.Well, I did some research on it to make sure it'... Read Full Story
The "If it tastes good, spit it out!!" diet
Maybe it's the fact that we raised our family in California that I get excited to think of summer being right around the corner. We always spent a lot of time at the beach and often camped on the beach as well. What wonderful memories we all have of those years. As a young woman I didn't have to watch my weight. I was usually too thin. A young mother never lacks things to keep her moving. Right? That isn't the case now, however, and I do have to watch what I eat. When I gain a few p... Read Full Story
California, a different kind of life
I may have shared with you all before that my husband and I met, married and raised our family in Southern California. We live in South Texas now and love it here.We go back to California yearly to see beloved family and old friends. We usually book a room at a San Diego California hotel and spend time there just relaxing. The thing that strikes me the most when we go there to California is how much attention is paid to presentation of everything. A lot of time and money is spent on exteriors ... Read Full Story
