A Great Time Was Had By All!!

I have had a few things going on since the last time I posted. Last week I was in Ontario, Canada for my cousin's wedding. Actually I had a few stops on the way. I drove to my sister's house which is only two hours away. Then she drove me and the kids to Michigan to meet my mom and cousins from Washington state. We spent the night there and left the next morning for Canada.

The wedding was beautiful. It was outside in the garden at the Shakespeare playhouse. Just as the wedding was suppose to start it started to rain. They delayed it to see if they were going to go inside but then decided to go for it. The bride came down with a big umbrella. Just as they said their vows the sun came out. someone mentioned to them that rain on your wedding day was good luck. I don't know if the bride agreed. But she was still radiant. Part of the wedding was spoken in french. The bride's side of the family is from Quebec. The mother of the bride is a cousin of Celine Dion!! My ten year old son said, "Are we now related to Celine, because if we are I'm happy about that. I didn't want to burst his bubble so I just said, "Sure honey, in a very distant sort of way I guess you could say that." My cousin flew in for her brother's wedding from Australia where she's studying. It was so nice to see my family. My aunt (the mother of the groom) lives in Mennonite country. It's just miles and miles of trees and land. I liked the slower pace of life. my uncle had lawn darts and croquet out. I didn't want to come home.

The last three days I was there really wore me out. The wedding reception ended late and I didn't drive separately. The next day we drove back to Michigan and didn't get back until after midnight again. I usually guard my sleep like gold. It was well worth it though!! Most definitely! I got to spend three extra days at my mom's to rest and talk. She took the kids out twice so I could have the house to myself. They got to visit Greenfield Village in Deerborne, Michigan. I have been home for three days trying to catch up. I have many, many pictures now. I love to scrapbook but over 100 pictures seems daunting! One picture at a time ehh?
