I have decided to focus on separate techniques

on technique Sundays. First up: Mosaic Layouts.

Mosaic layouts

Doing a mosaic layout despite how it looks is very fun and easy.

Basic instructions:

Make a photo matt a least 2 inches bigger than your photo size
Turn your photo over and measure it out evenly. One inch per box for example
Write numbers on the back of each box
Cut out the numbers with a cutting tool so they are straight
Line up the boxes by number on your photo matt (make sure its not upside down or reversed so you could not see the photo properly)
Glue down each box leaving a small gap using a ruller

Usually you will see a Mosiac layout done on almost any photo
other than one of people because it blends better; however,
it still can be done and look neat as per below.
