As a rule us photographers generally have a very turbulent love affair with light. More often than not dark clouds and gray skies try to come between us (unless you're lucky enough to be a photographer in California), but sometimes we just manage to be in the right place at the right time. On those days, when the sun comes out to play and it's all good, you know that you and light are as tight as can be.It was pretty much the perfect autumn day when we went to Primrose Hill for Erika & J... October was all about the engagement shoots. I did so many that my head got a bit dizzy. Now in November I actually have at least a couple of well-deserved weekends off (woo!) until my weddings pick up again in December. For Fiona and Pete's engagement session we tried to think of something a bit different from the standard wandering-around-the-streets-approach. I got the idea of using the spaces at Andaz Liverpool Street, as there are so many different nooks and crannies with completely diff... Read Full Story

Sam hates being photographed. I mean really hates being photographed. So his and Katie's engagement session certainly required some cunning methods on my part in order to try to capture some of the relaxed and loving interaction they fell into when ever the camera wasn't pointing at Sam. Katie and Sam are a thoroughly lovely couple, and we did have a lot of fun, but boy did Sam make me work for my pictures! :D Having said that, he did swear that he'll be on his best behaviour on the wedding ... Oh man am I tired today. Starting work at 8am is definitely not my thing. :|But looksie here, on Sunday I actually did something that wasn't work-related, so I now can offer you this very rare 'normal life' themed blog entry. You lucky, lucky people. What happened was that last Christmas all the Taylor siblings, and their better halves, got gifted with these 'experience vouchers' for a chocolate workshop. It took us 10 months to get organised enough to actually book and attend this strange so... Read Full Story

Sam & Adam SO belong on Rock'n Roll Bride - they're just too cool for school (however, using that turn of phrase probably puts me right in the opposite category :P). Sam's Diana wasn't just a prop by the way, unfortunately there is evidence of that fact on film...Labels: engagement, Engagement photography, London, rock n roll bride, Sam and Adam, Spitalfields, wedding photographer, wedding photojournalist

This engagement session felt somehow very special to me as I'd been waiting to meet Sam and Adam for what seems like aaaages. Due to them being busy posh designers, plus living in Italy, it wasn't the easiest job trying to schedule their shoot at a time when they'd be in London and all of us would have space in our calendars. We headed to Spitalfields for their session, as this is Sam's favourite part of London, and certainly managed to have quite an eventful afternoon! Among other things, w... Read Full Story

Erin & Ben's engagement shoot in Marylebone got rescheduled so many times due to multitude of obstacles such as calendar conflicts, being in different countries, and illnesses, that I was starting to despair over whether we would ever manage to get together. I am so glad we did in the end! Erin and Ben are just uber cute, totally cool and up for anything, which made this session really fun for me. It's not often you manage to persuade your clients to lie in the middle of the road for example... Read Full Story

Last weekend we headed to Richmond Park with Anna and Chris (and the incredibly soft Murphy) for their engagement shoot. It was a super windy day, but at least we did miss all the rain that came down later on. These two are simply gorgeous and I could have spent all day photographing them! :D It was such a lovely and relaxing change to be shooting in a park instead of central London as well. We even ran into lots of deer (and baby bambis!). First we thought about trying to incorporate them i... Read Full Story

The Autumn somehow creeped in from around the corner while I wasn't looking. Suddenly the days are getting shorter and the rain wetter. I've just realised that's it's now pretty much a year since I started my photography business. A year of 13 hour days and working all weekends. I think I've had about 5 days 'off' in the last year. If someone had come to me with this sort of proposition at the beginning of it all I would have laughed and ran away pretty promptly. But somehow, when you're in i... Read Full Story
