Voracious in Vegas? Find Where to Dine in Style Here!
There are so many amazing places to eat in Vegas. A new restaurant opens up everywhere you look which means every kind of cuisine is available to choose from depending on what your crew is hungry for. Here is a "sampling" of some of the more sceney places to eat to satisfy your pallette.
Sushi
KOI at Planet Hollywood Resort: New York and West Hollywood hot spot welcomes a Vegas sibling; KOI really is a must-see for its curvy design and Far East decor, not to mention the reason one comes--the food. KOI is known for its fresh sushi and signature dishes such as the miso-bronzed black cod and the kobe beef filet mignon. If going the sushi route don't skip the dragon roll. Another delicious dish is the sesame-encrusted lobster tail with a yuzu sauce. If trying one of the specialty cocktails, such as the Sin-u-Rita or Sake-Tini. Be sure to save room for the molten chocolate cake.
Sushi Roku at Caesar's: Hip, young diners are greeted by minimalist, Zen decor consisting of bamboo, chiseled stone, dark wood and the sound of cascading water. The menu features traditional dishes like teriyaki and tempura, but the real draw is the sushi, made from fresh fish flown in daily. Specialties include seared yellowtail sashimi with ponzu and diced chilies, and baked lobster roll with creamy spicy sauce. But the Titan Roll ROCKS!! Signature cocktails are available, like the cantaloupe martini.
Steak
BOA Steakhouse at Caesar's Palace: Nestled in the midst of the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, BOA's menu includes traditional cuts prepared with the BOA's signature sauces, plus an expanded selection of seafood and wines by the glass. BOA Steakhouse transforms the conventional steakhouse concept from a stodgy culinary antique to a dynamic expression of traditional and contemporary American cuisine. Just like it's sister store in Santa Monica (which I LOVE) BOA caters to a hip crowd with a vibrant decor and sexy lighting.
N9NE Steakhouse at the Palms: This place is so perfect for your event. N9NE features a $70 prix-fixe bachelorette menu beginning with caviar and champagne and ending with a chocolate-dipped ice cream cone. (Complimentary VIP entry to Rain is also included!) There is also the signature Garbage Salad has a little bit of everything, including hearts of palm, tomatoes, shrimp, Roquefort and salami in champagne vinaigrette. Entrees include rib eye steaks and sublime big eye tuna with pepper and balsamic vinegar and lobster mashed potatoes.
Mexican
Dos Caminos: Dos Caminos at the new Palazzo Resort Hotel has a more modern look than most Mexican restaurants. The menu sticks to classic Mexican fare. Tacos are made with either chicken, fish, steak or pork and the fresh sides of guacamole comes made-to-order. Hearty meals include the lamb shank barbacoa, roasted chicken enchiladas with mole poblano and salsa verde and a Chilean sea bass veracruzano. If your sweet tooth is screaming by the end of the meal, order up the flan, the Mexican banana split or the white and dark chocolate fondue.
Chinese
China Grill at Mandalay Bay: Awesome for sharing! The sharing menu contains over 40 dishes, including favorites like Tempura Sashimi with hot mustard champagne sauce; Lamb Spareribs with plum and sesame glaze; and Grilled Szechuan Beef with sake, soy, spicy shallots and cilantro. The neo-Asian design features a multilevel dining room with a planetarium-style illuminating ceiling, a signature open kitchen and a swank sunken front lounge/dining room, best for a drink before or after your meal.
