Why the Beatles made such good music

If you love the Beatles, you love good music. Plain and simple.

Now, I'm not saying they are the only ones who ever made good music - I am saying that good music is good music because of a certain set of universal laws that exist in nature. The Beatles just happened to be at the right place and right time to bring those laws to life in their art, just as everyone else in the 60's made awesome music. So what am I talking about exactly?

Well, one key rule that you see in everything and not just music is simplicity. Nowadays every time I turn on the radio to something mainstream, my brain is blasted with all kinds of crazy sound effects, synthesizers, voice modifiers because the artists can't sing, synth drums and so on. It's overwhelming. But back in the 60's, the Beatles and others made music that was acoustic and simple. Simple chords, simple rhythms and just good old singing and harmonizing. It's like the difference between buying some fancy chocolate milk at the store that's got all kinds of food coloring and sugars in it and just taking a drink from freshly milked organic cow's milk.

That's why the Beatles made good music!
