Why the Beatles were so good

Being trained in classical piano for 5+ years and having been in a band for 3+ years, I know what it means to make good music and to make a solid project that you can feel confident in. During my years in the band, the guys and I looked up to people like the Who, Beatles, Led Zeppelin and so on, for their musical accomplishments. Their sense of organization in a song, their simplicity in the music and poetic sound of lyrics - nothing was manufactured and nothing was synthetic. That's why the Beatles were so good.

Today's music is nothing but manufactured and synthetic. Every day you hear a new hip hop artist release a "hit" single that has a bunch of synthetic loops and poor lyrics with little vocal talent and nothing but voice modifiers to make them sound good. Sure, some of the tunes are catchy - but what can you expect from all of these one hit wonders? The Beatles had dozens of hits and it was because they knew to keep it simple and keep it good quality.
