Bats (0.5/4 Stars)
From:  filmcrave.com
This movie is very typical of a horror movie. Unfortunately, unlike some others (such as The Haunting or Dawn of the Dead), Bats has NO redeeming qualities. The plot is typical, and thus predictable. The acting is average, or very poor. You will recognize the dialogue as those same lines repeated time and time again in other movies. You will see the same techniques (not the good ones) used over and over in other movies. The bats look stupid, and the characters do very unintelligent things. Th... Read Full Story
Lake Dead (0.5/4 Stars)
From:  filmcrave.com
Drivel about a couple of (admittedly hot) sisters and their stepsister who inherit an old motel out in the middle of nowhere. The stepsister arrives early to check out the place, and is violently attacked, and then thrown into a lake and drown. The two sisters arrive the next day with friends of theirs and begin the usual fun-in-the-sun activities by the lake, but when two of their number disappear and they go looking for them, they find them dead, hanging from a tree. They are then the targe... Read Full Story
Fantastic Mr. Fox, The (2.5/4 Stars)
From:  filmcrave.com
There's some really creative stop motion animation in this tale of a family man fox lured back into his younger lifestyle as a thief. The story is okay as Mr. Fox goes a little too far and brings the wrath of the farmers not just on his family but the animals all around. There are times though, that the story drags, and it being a Wes Anderson film, there's a few instances where things were a little too quirky for my taste. If you're an Anderson fan you'll enjoy it, if you're not, you may be ... Read Full Story
In Old Arizona (2.5/4 Stars)
From:  filmcrave.com
An old movie that kind of works as a western romantic comedy of sorts. There is enjoyment to be seen here although it is not great and dated it has a nice feel to it for most of the film and some actual good performances from the male leads. The film though is not perfect at all and the ending is in a far to dark of a contrast to the rest of the picture. Oscar Win Best Actor Warner Baxter 3/5- Baxter is rather interesting as the Cisco Kid in this film. He plays but the carefree and the more ... Read Full Story
Razor's Edge, The (1946) (2/4 Stars)
From:  filmcrave.com
A really annoying film actually, that I had trouble getting through the first time. It is about a guy looking for himself and then trying to be great guy. That is all there is to the character no more, he has no dark side to him or anything else that is it. Then there are the other characters who you do learn enough about or their character shift into complete evil suddenly in some scenes like the Gene Tierney Character involvement with the Anne Baxter character. None of the character were th... Read Full Story
Life as a House (3/4 Stars)
From:  filmcrave.com
This was a touching story about a father who is dying of cancer trying to spend his last few months alive by reaching out to drug-addicted teenage son by building a house with him. The actual movie is not as intense as its description, because I think the relationships were a bit rushed. This movie is centered around relationships so some of the connections needed a little more smoothing out. But it is still something nice to watch if you are looking for something bitter sweet. Farrell was ok but law was the weakest part of the film.see it if you like ledger and depp but don't expect anything amazing Read Full Story
Delta Farce (0.5/4 Stars)
From:  filmcrave.com
This is an unfunny version of Stripes. In fact, it's almost as though they took the script for "Stripes", replaced Bill Murray with Larry the Cable Guy, Russia with Mexico, and cut out most of the humor and wit. It has a bare handful of almost-mildly-amusing moments. Mostly, though, it's just dumb. Really, really dumb. And not "funny" dumb. Just... dumb!! Don't pay money to see this. Wait until it's on TV some night, when there's nothing else to watch. Even then, you might want to consider ju... Read Full Story
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1/4 Stars)
From:  filmcrave.com
This is the worst scary movie I have ever seen! The first one was good, but what the hell happened when they made this one. I mean, come on! How scary is it when a man runs around (or should I say, WALKS around) and kills characters that only have 2 lines, or less. And the end is really sad. not boo hoo sad, just sad! Julie shot the man like 7 times and he still has enough energy to not die, follow her to her house, crawl under a chair (like he would fit), and then pull her under it! I'm sorr... Read Full Story
10 Rillington Place (3/4 Stars)
From:  filmcrave.com
Richard Attenborough is brilliant in this, and the film delivers for most of the duration. It does often struggle getting out of the maudlin tv movie vibe it seems to settle in, and so proves less cinematic than I would have hoped, but the performances are great, story is so so, overall it's definatly worth a viewing.
