As in, "I can't imagine any serious person voting for Obama." This lack of imagination afflicts people with a certain confidence in their beliefs. Liberals have told me, "You're a Republican? How can you be a teacher?" Others have said things like: "You're a conservative? Does that mean you're like a Nazi or something?" and "You're a Christian..." (It's my experience that religious people can't imagine how people can't believe in God and that secularists can't comprehend that people do... Read Full Story
Originally, I called the debate something of a draw. However, I forgot to factor out one variable. If you take out all of Biden's lies, he's left with "Good Evening" and the fact that he'll never change. Really, then, Palin didn't debate anybody so she won by forfeit.Powered by b2evolution.

Biden got a lot of facts wrong, which prompts the question, "What good does it do to be knowledgeable if you're always wrong?"
Anyways, I'd like to refute the easiest one and let smarter people take the others.
Criticizing John McCain’s health care plan, Biden said that McCain would tax health care and “then you’re going to have to replace a $12,000 — that’s the average cost of the plan you get through your employer; it costs $12,000 — you’re going to have to pay — replace a $12,000 plan... 1. I don't think it's appropriate to ask "who won?" In a way, I think they both won since they each left the stage without having spontaneously combusted- Biden didn't say anything too stupid and Palin didn't say anything embarrassing right before an extended giggle. I think the more relevant answer is "who will people like most?"
2. I guess the national consensus is that non-married couples need benefits, but that we shouldn't call their relationship a "marriage." But would either Obama or... Read Full Story
1. In my monitoring of moderate and independent opinion, I find that McCain is doing poorly. Specifically, McCain is doing poorly with "leave me alone" political cynics John and Ken on AM640 in Los Angeles. They don't support Obama, seeing him as a big government liberal, but they don't like McCain. I haven't heard political bell weather Howard Stern, but I know he liked Hillary Clinton.
It's the same with moderate people at school. One pro-choice moderate lady liked McCain a month ago. I... Read Full Story
Obama declined to cast blame on any one person for the crisis but he did take shots at McCain for his support of deregulation.
"I read the other day that Sen. McCain likes to gamble. He likes to roll those dice," he said. "One thing I know is this -- we can't afford to gamble on four more years of the same disastrous economic policies we've had for the last eight."
From here.
Obama, playing out the clock. He offers no arguments, explanation. Nothing. It's all about "McBush."

I've offered my sword and pen (tablet) to McCain and will do what I can to elect him, but if Friday's debate helped Obama, it looks very very bad for McCain-Palin.
However, Obama to become our commander in chief, we should not despair, fall into lefty style hatred and nit-picking, or otherwise lose our heads. Specifically, we shouldn't go nuts with the Jeremiah Wright ads and predict economic disaster. The non-economic disaster of the Clinton administration lost conservatives a lot of... Read Full Story
1. I listened to the debate from the Angel game last night. Like the Texas Rangers, McCain won handily. However, it may not have changed the standings, so to speak.
2. When did it get to the point that a win for Obama means not embarrassing himself? Wasn't he supposed to be the articulate one and McCain the tottering old fool?
3. McCain won throughout and decisively.
4. Obama struck first, trying to tie McCain to Bush policies. Obama is counting on people being dumb. To people with a... Read Full Story
1. I'm going to take my dad and two sons to the Angel game. I spoke to McCain and he feels confident that he can debate without my guidance.
2. I have no joy in saying this, but my feeling is that the Palin bubble has burst. Yes, the media has had it in for her, but she's just a little too girly in those interviews, not like Thatcher or even Clinton, vindicating my live in focus group's opinion, Mrs. Guirado's original opinion. I hope things change- the debate will be her last chance to... Read Full Story
